The Pancake Bakery is nestled in a side road of Amsterdam a short walk from the Anne Frank House. It looks unassuming from the outside but is filled with charm, and you can even sit alongside the canal outside if the weather permits!
We really enjoyed our pancakes. We got the Dutch and Norwegian pancakes, and the Dutch breakfast. The pancakes had a texture similar to crepes, and were generously topped with delicious fillings.
The wait staff was as very kind, and knowledgeable, especially with dietary restrictions as one of our party couldn’t have cinnamon. Our waitress made sure to specify that they had an open kitchen.
We really enjoyed our experience, and next time we visit Amsterdam we are likely to come back!
When in Amsterdam, you absolutely cannot miss this historic pancake house! Housed in a 17th-century former warehouse, the restaurant oozes vintage charm with its massive wooden beams and rustic brick walls. The atmosphere hits you the moment you walk through the door.We ordered a mix of sweet and savory dishes this time, and everything was incredible!Mexican Pancake: This savory giant was as big as a pizza! The crepe-like crust had a lovely slight chewiness to it, loaded with flavorful minced meat, melted cheese, chili peppers, and salsa. The rich, spicy Mexican flavors paired surprisingly well with the traditional Dutch pancake base. It was served piping hot and incredibly appetizing!Chocolate & Banana Pancake: A classic, foolproof sweet option. The natural sweetness of the bananas combined with rich, indulgent chocolate sauce drizzled over the thin pancake made every single bite pure bliss.Poffertjes (Dutch Mini Pancakes): A traditional must-try! These bite-sized treats were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with a rich, buttery aroma. Tossed in melted butter and a thick blanket of powdered sugar, it was incredibly decadent but so good that we couldn't stop eating them!Sitting inside while enjoying our food and soaking in the tranquil view of the Prinsengracht canal just outside the window was the perfect experience. It's located just a few steps away from the Anne Frank House. While you might have to wait in line during peak hours, being able to satisfy both your sweet tooth and savory cravings at once makes it completely worth it!

The loveliest service. I was a solo traveller which always makes me nervous how people treat me. But the server was super kind and helpful, I enjoyed that there was outdoor seating which was peaceful and by the water.
The food too was good! A good portion of pancake. It’s a crepe style pancake if that’s what you like. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you!

If you’re visiting Amsterdam, you have to try a traditional Dutch pancake, and The Pancake Bakery is a great place to do it. The pancakes were absolutely delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Even though it’s a popular spot, we were seated quickly, and there was plenty of room inside. Friendly service, great food, and an easy, relaxed atmosphere made for a wonderful family meal. Definitely worth a visit while you’re in Amsterdam.

On the day of international pancake day we been here. Wooo how many type of pancakes! Was a bit difficult to choose but no regrets! All was soo good! Funny thing, I ordered Irish coffee - got a nice cuppa but the whisky amount of it was 😊😝🤣 bit more as my body could handle before breakfast 😝 so started my day drunk🤟
