A great little brewery (nano ale factory) in the heart of Sylvania. Clean design and decor, nice wooden bar and seats. The patrons seem to be seasoned goers and joke with the funny bartender a lot.
I had the Founders' KBS hazelnut fudge stout (12%, $8). Nicely rich and tastes like the described name, with a touch of coffee. Definitely want to try the pizza at J&Gs next time with friends.
The Dallas Tap room is officially open! Enjoy local craft beers and a limited food menu which includes their signature J&G pizza. This is the new main entrance for dining and the J&G entrance is now exclusive for pick up orders. The Dallas family has quite the gem in the heart of downtown Sylvania
Upside Down Brewing is such a cool spot. Not only do they have a decent amount of their own beers but they also have a grip of guest beers. For those that like spirits, they have six shelves of spirits and two shelves of wine. Thus, they have all their bases covered.
The aesthetics are really nice. Brick walls with hanging shelves of vines for that urban feel. When I first seen that, I thought to myself, “Hanging Gardens of Babylon” 🤓🌎
Unfortunately, I was still full from lunch so I’ll have to return on a day when I’m hungry because the food looks so good and the customers are tearing the food up like they missed a few meals or someone’s gonna take their plates from them.
Speaking of the clientele, the two times I’ve been here to include today, they along with the staff have made a dreadhead like me feel right at home. Bri and Jenna are amazing. They were welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about their craft. As a fellow bartender, these are the types of bartenders that I would love to have on my team! Protect them at all costs!
After being a loyal customer all my life, my husband and I were told to leave after we walked in the door with our masks on Nov 18, 2021. The owner, Nick Dallas told us he didn't want our business! The establishment is small and diners are packed tightly. Thursday night was no exception. The place was filled with people. No staff wears masks. There's no longer clear acrylic partitions between booths. They were removed in September.
The last several times we had patronized this tightly spaced establishment, one of the staff announced with a dining room full of patrons, that he couldn't smell or taste anything. Although we are both vaccinated, that concerned us and we finished our meal and left quickly. We learned from a past employee that staff are mocked if they want to wear a mask and are discouraged from doing so.
There's plenty of other pizza places. We'll pick another and never return here.
