This place is awesome. The Pistachio Honey Latte was really good. We also ordered a couple breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast (pictured), and a parfait. It was defiantly a pricey for 4 people, though it was also kind of a fancy breakfast. It was a little crammed inside, however, there is outdoor seating available too.
The first coffee I had when I came to Santacruz, California was at verve cafe with a dear friend. I had the opportunity to come here again in 2025 and guess what I had my first coffee of Santa Cruz in 2025 from Verve cafe again… I love the place. It has to sit out the coffee. I love to simply sit and work over here. I like the limited food options they have. It’s just a joy to be here.

Our first visit to Verve Coffee in Santa Cruz was a bit of a mixed experience. I’d rate it 3.5/5 stars overall, mainly because of the extremely slow service.
We ordered two drinks—a basic vanilla latte and the seasonal Strawberry Cheesecake Latte—and it took 20 minutes from the time on our receipt until we received them (not including the extensive time in line with only 4 orders in front of us). I understand that coffee shops get busy, but that felt like an unusually long wait for two drinks and unfortunately really impacted our experience.
The pastries were much more of a highlight. We tried the plain croissant, double chocolate cookie, and gluten-free blueberry muffin. The kids loved the chocolate cookie, and the gluten-free blueberry muffin was surprisingly moist and delicious!
The atmosphere was probably my favorite part of the visit. The shop itself is beautiful, with tons of plants, warm wood accents, and a really inviting feel. The space is exactly what I picture when I think of a great coffee shop.
Unfortunately, the service time really knocked the experience down for me. As a first-time customer, waiting 20 minutes for two drinks left enough of an impression that I’m not sure I’d choose to come back, despite really enjoying the atmosphere and pastries.

Was in the area on a Sunday morning and wanted to grab some coffee before heading back to the BNB. Found this coffee spot, happened to be during a little market day and the streets were blocked off with vendors. Luckily I parked about a 5 minute walk away. Seems to be a popular spot Sunday mornings with a long line but it went pretty fast. For people both dining in or ordering out. I got an almond croissant, one of my friends wanted a matcha latte, others iced vanilla latte, iced mocha, and I got a hot latte. I think the small sizes only come with 1 shot of espresso and whole milk. After you order the drinks come out really quickly! The staff are efficient and friendly and there are plenty of spaces to sit inside, tables, bar like seating, and they have a pretty big menu for food too. There’s street parking but may be difficult if it’s really busy.

While on the way to the reserve we had our coffee break at this place and as expected it was crowded but fortunately we could get our coffee and breakfast in pretty good time and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent here . The food, coffee and the ambience was amazing. Parking too was very comfortable.
