Stopped in for dinner after a long day of shopping and running errands. We had never had Yemeni cuisine before and we were not disappointed. I had never had lentil soup before and theirs was delish. The next day I made my own and am now addicted to thisbhighbprotein and hight fiber deliciousness. We ordered the falafel and shish tawouk plates and they were delicious. The baklava was also good, but very strongly flavored/scented rose water is used and it is very overwhelming. We brought ours home and discarded the top layer.
It s definitely a strip mall type restaurant but the staff is crazy nice and kind.
Pro tip: the free tap water is gross... make sure to order bottled water if you're a water only drinker.
Aqeel was wonderful as he took care of us at Yemen grill on south Havana street in aurora. He was very kind and patient while we tried to decide what to get for our first visit to this restaurant. And did not steer us wrong! We ended up with the most delicious lamb stew (Fahsa) that was plenty of food for the both of us with pita. Served boiling hot in an traditional wooden bowl and was just perfect. Since we like to try many things we also went with the Lamb kebab sandwich and it was super flavorful. I am writing this the next day because my left overs even made me do the happy dance while I was eating them. Aqeel made sure to make us feel welcomed and continued to check on us to make sure we were doing great. We were! Thank you Aqeel and the Yemen Grill I look forward to coming again.

Do yourself a favor and try it! The flavors are amazing, the people are kind, and the atmosphere is great. We enjoyed everything we tried.
My wife and I split the mixed grill for two, and my son had the lamb kabobs. His lamb was great, all of our skewers were grilled to perfection, even the rice was seasoned well.
As a family, we have decided that this place gets an 11/10 and we will definitely be going again.
Just tried this spot and wow, the food was seriously authentic Mediterranean! I'm still dreaming about the shawarma, it was so flavorful and tender. And don't even get me started on the falafel; perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's rare to find such genuine flavors outside of the region. This place really nailed it with their classic dishes. I'm definitely going back for more soon. You guys should totally check it out if you're craving some delicious Mediterranean fare. It's a real gem!
