Tried this cozy Basque-style spot near Boston Common and overall had a great experience. Drink was refreshing and well-balanced (even the non-alcoholic option was impressive).
Food highlights:
*The chicken hearts were surprisingly tender and flavorful.
*The beef cheek was the standout—super soft and literally melts in your mouth.
*Foie gras was nicely done with a subtle sweetness.
Portions are on the smaller side, so definitely get more bread to soak up the delicious sauces. Overall, a solid spot for a casual night out with good vibes and a few standout dishes!
Nice location in beacon hill…. Tables available outside along the street. Food is very good and tasty. This is not the usual Spanish place but it is more oriented on small plate ( really max 2 bites) and tapas. Larger plates are available but I didn’t try. Overall the quality is very good and great match of flavors. The seri d sis great and very friendly. Cost is not cheap… keep in mind that the portions are small so you need to order many plates. Recommended …. I am going back!

I visited ZURiTO to celebrate my husband's birthday, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing.
When we arrived, I told our waiter that it was my husband's birthday and asked if he could put a candle on the dessert I ordered. He happily said "no problem."
When the dessert arrived, there was no candle. I tried to get his attention several times, but he didn't notice me. After we had already paid the bill, he apologized and said he had simply forgotten.
This was especially upsetting because I hadn't bought a birthday cake—I was counting on the restaurant dessert for a simple birthday celebration. By the time we finished dinner, it was already after 8 PM, so there was no time to find another cake. My husband didn't even get to make a birthday wish.
As for the food:
- The foie gras and sea urchin were excellent.
- The baby cuttlefish was overly fishy.
- The grilled shrimp was far too salty.
- The mushroom tapas and grilled octopus were unevenly seasoned, with some bites containing large grains of salt.
Overall, most dishes were overly salty and quite average.
A birthday dinner is about more than just the food. Forgetting a simple request after promising to do it really ruined what should have been a special evening. I hope the restaurant pays more attention to these details in the future.

Low key, neighborhood hangout vibe. It was packed at 9:15pm on a Saturday. We arrived about 10-15 mins before our reservation time but were seated rather promptly. Everyone from the hostess to all the wait staff was lovely, friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. They acknowledged the note I included about celebrating a birthday which was a nice touch, most places completely ignore the reservation notes. Food was very tasty, we enjoyed everything we ordered. I will say that a couple of the dishes, the bacalao cheeks especially, weren’t super elevated and were on the smaller side for tapas, so felt over priced. The basque cheesecake was perfection, super creamy and subtle in the best way. My husband who doesn’t even like cheesecake liked it!
The only complaint we had was how loud the place was, it was giving college bar with folks literally yelling to be heard. It was so loud I got a noise notification on my Apple Watch. Not what we expected and it really took away from the experience. I would suggest coming in on a different day and time for a more enjoyable experience.

If you’re looking for a great Basque tapas spot in Boston, this place is such a fun find. It’s cozy, lively, and perfect for sharing a bunch of plates with friends and just taking your time enjoying some truly spectacular food.
The Pimientos Rellenos de Bacalao were seriously good—sweet roasted peppers stuffed with creamy, flaky salt cod that felt rich but not too heavy. The Croissant de Ibérico was the only disappointment: The jamón Ibérico was perfectly salty, rich and practically melted on the tongue; the croissant however was rather rubbery and a let down.
You’ve got to order the Pan con Tomate. It sounds basic, but when it’s done right like this—crispy bread, fresh tomato, great olive oil—it really hits and was so good that we are determined to recreate it at home. The Conservas de Sardinas Pequeñas were another highlight—tender, flavorful, and a great example of how amazing good-quality conservas can be.
The Foie Gras Plantxa was perfectly seared and indulgent, the Tortilla Espagnola was classic comfort food with soft potatoes and sweet onions, and the Pulpo Plantxa had that ideal char while still being tender inside, some of the best grilled octopus we have had.
We were definitely hoping they’d have paella and Basque cheesecake. The waiter mentioned their kitchen is too small to make paella, which makes sense for a tapas-focused spot. During the summer time, for special events, they occasionally offer paella that has been prepared outside. They usually have Basque cheesecake, but unfortunately not the night we went—which just means we’ll have to come back for it.
Overall, it’s the kind of place where you end up ordering one more plate than you planned and leave already thinking about your next visit.
