Do you think that you have to go downtown to enjoy rooftop dining? WRONG! We found a wonderful rooftop bar/restaurant in the West Loop
Tetto Chicago!
From the moment you step off the elevator, you know that you are somewhere special.
It reminded us of our trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
We were surprised at how authentically italian the food was and soooo delicious!
We started out with the Amalfi and Rosa Pesca slushies along with Fried Calamari (we couldn't ask for a better pairing).
The Orecchiette and Linguine Alle Vongole tasted as fresh as the Mediterranean Sea, they were that good
!
The Funghi Pizza has 3 different mushrooms, truffle oil & sauce with the piece de resistance, torched Rosemary.
It was a really nice touch that Chef Pasquale brought us the food and explained each dish to us.
We ended our meal with their delicious Affogato for dessert.
It's perfect for date night, or just hanging out with friends, the views are pretty spectacular too.
First come, first served. They do not take reservations, so arrive early.
Open Wednesday & Thursday 4-11 pm, Friday & Saturday 4 pm-12 am, Sunday 2-10 pm
We held a large event here and it was good but the way our gifts were handled at the end of the night was incredibly disappointing. It’s sad that this is the reason we won’t be coming back.
Security took several of our gifts and assured us they would be kept safe until we left. When I specifically asked to have them brought back, I was told they were ready for pickup. Instead, they had gone missing. We were never told that closed bottles weren’t allowed inside, and at the very least, our items should have been kept separate and labeled after security took possession of them. The venue searched but unfortunately nothing was found, and they were unwilling to reimburse us for the amount spent on the bottles. Instead, they wanted to give us bottle credit to use there, but we aren’t interested in going back. We were happy to work with the business, but they weren’t with us.
These weren’t just random items. They were thoughtful gifts from our guests, who put time and effort into picking them out for us. We’re very disappointed and hope they improve their process so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

We had a corporate summer event at Tetto's and we could not ask for a better experience! A different venue had fell through so this was a last-minute request, but Tetto was incredibly accommodating and professional during the whole process. They are well-versed in hosting events, and I was impressed by all of the staff.
I would highly recommend trusting Tetto for any venue needs, but I will be back to enjoy as a regular guest ASAP!

Tetto Chicago is a vibrant rooftop venue in the West Loop, offering a blend of Italian-inspired cuisine, inventive cocktails, and stunning city views. 8,000-square-foot rooftop space that transforms into a lively social hub, especially during the summer months. The culinary offerings at Tetto are curated by Professor Pizza, a renowned brand known for its innovative takes on classic pizza styles. My favorite is Humboldt Pie, a creative combination of vodka sauce, pepperoni, pineapple, red onion, pickled jalapeño, and ranch dressing.
Tetto's rooftop setting offers panoramic views of the Chicago skyline, creating a perfect backdrop for evening gatherings.

Bizarre and Annoying Experience at Tetto
My recent visit to Tetto was one of the strangest dining experiences I've ever had. What started as a rooftop dinner quickly devolved into a series of odd interruptions that completely ruined the evening.
First, and most bizarrely, a man came up to our table, uninvited, to take photos of us while we were in the middle of a conversation. He directed us to pose and took about 10 photos, then returned a few minutes later trying to sell the photos to us. It was a completely random and unwelcome interruption, and the fact that the restaurant seems to allow this is baffling. We also saw another person walking around selling Italian ice, which made the whole place feel less like a restaurant and more like a carnival.
On top of that, the atmosphere was chaotic. For a Sunday dinner, the place was extremely loud with a DJ and a smoke machine. This wasn't mentioned anywhere online and made it difficult to even have a conversation. The service was also incredibly slow; it took a full 30 minutes just to get a glass of water after we were seated. Asked for a server just to have our own server tell us our server will be right with us, then came back herself later. Felt like I was an annoyance the entire time to the entire staff. They should switch to self ordering and checkout to avoid this entire mess. Place also has automatic 20% gratuity built in that no one calls out. The food was also extremely mediocre. My soda was flat when it came out.
Overall, the entire experience was just weird and annoying. I’ve never even seen this happen at any establishment, abroad or domestic. Honestly terrible and ruined what was supposed to be a nice meal. The unprofessional atmosphere and constant interruptions made it impossible to enjoy our time. I definitely will not be returning.
