Caractère was exceptional. We came for our anniversary and the whole experience felt special without ever becoming overly formal.
The beetroot risotto was the standout. Rich, precise and incredibly well balanced, easily the dish I kept thinking about afterwards. The chicken was another highlight and showed the same level of confidence. The fish and a couple of the other savoury courses were still very good, but they didn’t quite reach the same level as those two.
Desserts were beautiful, both in presentation and flavour, and finished the meal on a real high.
What impressed me just as much as the food was the service. The team were polished, attentive and incredibly professional, but still warm. There was a real sense of awareness throughout the meal, from pacing to the little anniversary touches, and we genuinely felt looked after rather than simply served.
Not every dish was flawless, but the best dishes were outstanding, and the overall experience felt completely deserving of its Michelin star.

Caractere is an outstanding modest, classy, Michelin star restaurant.
Tucked away in Notting Hill you are met with friendly but exemplary service and a standard of cuisine that is high quality, beautifully presented but with an emphasis on taste.
Each bite from pre meal hors d'oeuvres thru the menu made taste buds ‘dance’ with enthusiasm for the next bite.
Wonderful lunch experience and eager to return!

This is a wonderful French restaurant with one Michelin star, and I absolutely love it. The chef is the daughter of the legendary Michel Roux, one of London’s most famous chefs, who previously had a three Michelin starred restaurant in Mayfair and is now involved in the Michelin Chef Academy.
She and her husband are doing an incredible job. The food is exceptional, and sometimes Michel Roux himself is there, which makes the experience even more special. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they earn another Michelin star in the near future.
I’ve visited this restaurant three times now, and every visit has been a fantastic experience. The food, service, and overall atmosphere are all excellent. I highly recommend it!

I visited in 2022 before it won its first Star. However, after dinner I felt a strong sense that it would win sooner, not just for its reputation but for the exquisite flavours in everything.
The display is classic, a harmonious blend of ingredients and flavours. The service team is also professional. The tasting menu offers two options per course and we were delighted to try them all.
It’s a quiet place so you can enjoy your leisure time in privacy.

We ate at this restaurant a few years ago before they got their Michelin star and were keen to return. They offer a Christmas lunch so we booked as a treat. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented and very tasty. There’s an extensive wine list with a large selection of French and Italian wines. The service was excellent and it was great to have the opportunity to chat with Emily. Highly recommended, we look forward to returning!
