We celebrated our 9th anniversary here and had an enjoyable evening overall. Theas breathtaking. We started with a Cosmopolitan for me and a Blue Moon for my husband. The staff was one of the highlights of the night. Everyone was professional, personable, and genuinely fun to talk with. Juan especially made us laugh when we were talking about ceviche. When I described how it’s traditionally served in Mexico and throughout coastal Latin America, he smiled and said, “Yes, that’s exactly how we make it at my house!” That was a great moment. The appetizers, unfortunately, were disappointing. The Caesar salad missed the mark. The dressing barely coated the lettuce—it wasn’t creamy or vinaigrette-like, just dry. The “croutons” were simply thin crust strips from white bread, not actual seasoned, toasted croutons that add flavor and texture. The ceviche was the biggest disappointment. I was expecting a fresh, vibrant seafood ceviche with shrimp, fish, pico de gallo, tomato-based sauce, fresh lime, and tostadas—the style you’ll find throughout Mexico and many coastal regions of Latin America. Instead, what arrived looked nothing like a traditional ceviche and was very underwhelming. It was a spoon full of "ceviche" on a chip. Presentation was beautiful if it had been something else. The market fish was trout served over an oyster sauce. While the sauce itself was flavorful, the fish was unfortunately dry and the presentation was awful. I had originally asked for a lemon butter sauce, while my husband chose the oyster sauce. The sauce was enjoyable, but it couldn’t make up for the dryness of the fish. I finally combined both the oyster sauce and lemon butter sauce, and it made the rest of my meal edible. Dessert was the star of the meal. It was beautifully crafted to look like a giant raspberry, with a rich chocolate ganache center, silky milk chocolate mousse, and raspberry coulis surrounding it. It was absolutely beautiful and delicious. We finished the evening with a champagne toast—to another 10 years together, even though we were technically celebrating our ninth anniversary! Overall, I’d rate the experience 3.5 out of 5 stars. The staff created a warm, memorable atmosphere, but the food was inconsistent. With improvements to the Caesar salad, the ceviche, and the presentation of the fish, this could become a truly outstanding dining experience.
