Visited for my birthday lunch yesterday and I couldn't fault it! Sadly didn't get the name of the wonderful server who was super friendly, knowledgeable and who had great chat. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, I wish I could've eaten all of it. Wine is served by the glass, bottle or carafe, which was perfect! Really great value for fresh, interesting flavours (decent portions too) and wonderful service! Can't wait to return!
We went to the restaurant today for the three course menu. I had two oyesters as a snack, the sauces on top paired beautifully and really enhanced the freshness of the oysters.
For the main course, the confit duck leg was even better than any I’ve had in Paris. It was cooked perfectly, with tender meat and slightly crispy skin. We also tried the cod with red wine sauce and mashed potatoes. The sauce was rich and flavorful, a great match for the cod, and the mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth.
For dessert, the rice pudding brûlée was absolutely delicious. We loved how the ginger and rhubarb added to the creaminess and sweetness.
Everything was fabulous and incredibly tasty. The customer service was outstanding as well 10 out of 10!
Absolute gem of a restaurant. This might be the best value for fine dining you'll get in Edinburgh. Food was unique and so delicious. I could have eaten the English muffins forever.

We had some English muffins to start with, amazing rump carpaccio, fish for main and a tiramisu style choux bun for dessert.

Food was tasty. Side dishes felt overpriced. £7 for frozen chips or spinach is definitely steep even when compared to Michelin level competitors. Service was friendly but slow considering there are only roughly 7-8 tables in the restaurant. Wine list was extremely limited. Steak special was a standout.
Overall, we would return but would avoid sides. Make sure to book 5:30pm or earlier or you will be stung with a marked up menu.
