Additional Details
Golden HOF is connected to 'Golden Diner' and is the newest concept from chef Sam Yoo. It has combined with the team from NY Kimchi (a former KBBQ spot) to offer Korean comfort dishes alongside some of Golden Diner's iconic menu items, including the viral pancakes. It is located at 16 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily. Happy Hour runs Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 6 PM. Weekday evenings, such as Wednesday and Friday nights, can be busy, so making a reservation is highly recommended.
Dinner was amazing, and my boyfriend and I had such a wonderful experience celebrating my birthday here! We ordered the Korean fried chicken wings with the soy honey garlic glaze, corn cheese, tuna tartare à la “tangsuyuk,” and japchae. Every dish was absolutely delicious, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.
The service was also outstanding. Our waitress and waiter was attentive and kind, and when she found out it was my birthday, she surprised me with a strawberry vanilla ice cream dessert and a candle! even though I hadn’t ordered dessert. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the celebration feel extra special.
Everything from the food to the hospitality was wonderful. We had a memorable evening and would definitely come back!
After trying Golden Diner and being so impressed, we knew we had to visit their sister restaurant, Golden HOF and we are glad we did.
The atmosphere is completely different—much larger, more spacious, and significantly easier to book. It also gave us the perfect opportunity to have again their much-talked-about pancakes.
We started with the Gochujang Chicken Wings, which were outstanding. The balance between the crispy coating and tender meat was spot on, and the sauce was so flavorful it almost tempted us to lick the plate.
We also ordered the Kimchi Ikura Pancake, which we really enjoyed. They were perfectly fried: crispy without being greasy, and the combination of the fish eggs with the smoked sour cream worked great.
For mains, we chose the Chili Crisp Chicken Sando. It was exceptional: perfectly cooked chicken with a beautifully balanced mix of textures and flavors. The blue cheese chili mayo was to die for. This a menu item that’s not available at Golden Diner, and it’s worth come to this location for sure.
We also had the Gochujang Glazed Salmon, which was very soft, you didn’t even need a knife, but in comparison to the other dishes, felt a bit plain.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist the Mini Honey Butter Pancakes—they were absolutely delicious, and we would happily order them again. Our waiter also recommended trying the cereal milk soft serve. It was good, though not particularly memorable (if you’re looking for a top tier cereal milk soft serve, go to Milk Bar).
Overall, we had four standout dishes that made the experience truly memorable. I would highly recommend Golden HOF—you won’t regret it.

This place had really yummy food. The cilantro cucumber salad was great, the wings had nice texture. The lobster roll was really fresh, LOL. We ate it before I could take a picture of it. We came for pancakes to avoid the longer wait at the sister restaurant. The lychee martinis were great as well. The service was prompt and they were very kind.

Last night we sat at the chef’s counter at Golden HOF and every single thing we ordered was amazing.
The Gochujang Chicken Wings were so crispy with the perfect sweet and spicy glaze. Definitely some of the best wings I’ve had in a long time.
The Buldak Fire Chicken Dumplings completely stole the show - a nice touch of spicy, and cheesy, and so so so frickin good.
We also had the Japchae, which was packed with flavor and the perfect thing to balance out the richer dishes.
The Bibimbap was excellent too… fresh, flavorful, and mixed together perfectly. It was one of those dishes that was simple but really stood out.
And the Chicken Sando was incredible!! So crispy, juicy, and honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had in a while. (Adding a little gochujang brought it next level)
Sitting at the chef’s counter made the whole experience even better. Listening to them call out the orders, requesting “hands”, and watching them all work was so fascinating.
Major kudos to our chefs!!!. Such a great spot and we’ll definitely be back.

After enjoying Golden Diner, we knew we had to try Golden HOF for our final meal in NYC — and it absolutely delivered. Since we were a group of four, we were able to sample a wide range of dishes:
- East Coast Oysters: Loved the sesame‑perilla mignonette and spicy chojang sauce.
- Jaeyook Wedge Caesar Salad: Definitely not your standard Caesar — bold and memorable.
- Kimchi Ikura Pancake: Elevated with garlic‑chili honey, trout roe, smoked sour cream, and chives.
- Cilantro & Cucumber Salad: Refreshing and the perfect balance to the heavier plates.
- Korean Fried Chicken Wings: Highly recommend the gochujang glaze.
- Japchae: Nicely sweet, and adding short rib was the right move.
- NY Kimchi Jjigae: Warm, comforting, and deeply flavorful.
- Rose Rigatoni: Loved the Asian twist on a classic pasta.
- Cereal Milk Soft Serve & Strawberry Sorbet Swirl: The perfect ending.
- Mini Honey Butter Pancakes: Famous for a reason.
Definitely go with a group so you can try as many dishes as possible. We can’t wait to come back.
