We ordered caviar chicken bites, 3 drumsticks with honey butter roll, and kids meal shrimp basket with brussel sprouts as a side. The value of the meal was amazing. Brussel sprouts was my favorite dish. The fried chicken (original honey flavor) was a little bland. Shrimp was good but a little too salty. Honey butter roll was superb. Caviar chicken bites were topped with caviar and sour cream, which might be too much cream. Service was slow and not very attentive because they were busy.
Rating: 4/5 Stars (7.5/10)
We visited Washington for a festive weekend and stumbled upon The Honeymoon while heading elsewhere. The outdoor seating and vibrant ambiance immediately drew us in, and the incredible aroma inside confirmed we had to stay.
The Food
The standout of the meal was undoubtedly the Hot Honey Cauliflower, it was the absolute star of the show. We also enjoyed the rolls, which were excellent.
Honeymoon Wedge Salad: Fresh, though I’d recommend asking for dressing on the side if you prefer to control the portion.
3-Piece Chicken Wings: I requested these extra crispy. While they were flavorful, they didn't quite hit that crunch level I was looking for, so be sure to emphasize that preference to your server.
Mac & Cheese: My partner found this to be fairly average/mediocre.
Honeymoon Mimosas: Great for the "photo op," but the flavor profile didn't quite live up to the aesthetic.
The Experience
While the food is solid, the service has room for improvement. The initial greeting lacked warmth, and our server wasn't particularly attentive; we had to manage our own needs for basics like water, napkins, and utensils.
Bottom Line: This is a strong choice for a lunch date with a great vibe. If the customer service were more proactive, this would easily be an 8/10 or higher. Go for the cauliflower and the atmosphere!

I came in expecting something close to what I saw online—crispy, flavorful, worth the hype. What I got felt like a completely different story. The chicken looked promising, but the flavor just didn’t show up. It was giving “all crunch, no soul.” The potato wedges were decent, I’ll give them that—they carried more weight than the main dish, which says a lot.
Customer service didn’t make things any better. There was a noticeable communication barrier, and it made ordering more frustrating than it needed to be. Simple questions turned into a guessing game, and that’s not the vibe you want when you’re just trying to get a meal.
For the price, I expected something that at least tried to impress. Instead, it felt overpriced for what ended up being pretty mediocre, forgettable food. Not terrible, but definitely not something I’d go out of my way for again.

Not having a reservation system to book a table makes it difficult to chance coming here. So we went during the weekday upon opening. We were immediately seated. We had to try the chicken bites with caviar on top. The cauliflower with honey drizzle and cheese was also a nice appetizer. We had the humongous chicken Caesar wrap. It was fit for at least two meals. Will definitely come back.

Came here because the wait for Menya Hosaki was very long. Eclectic, old school diner vibe….. fantastic fried chicken with extra crispy skin with moist meat. Honeymoon sauce tasted like mild honey sauce and complimented the chicken. The apple pie/tart and smores pie/tart was excellent. Lovely dough, perfect sweetness. Service was fast and excellent. Very laid back, kind service.
