Hon'S BBQ

The whole dining experience at this Asian-inspired yet authentic BBQ smokehouse was outstanding and completely exceeded my already high expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, with only the finest-quality ingredients used throughout, including Iberico pork for the ribs. The highlight of the meal was, without doubt, the Sichuan Peppercorn Beef Short Rib. It was a dish sent from the gods, especially when paired with the beef-dripping rice topped with scallions, which was equally exceptional and incredibly flavourful in its own right. The service was superb from start to finish. Every member of staff was so warm, helpful friendly, welcoming, and professional, from the spectacular looking hostess who greeted us as we entered ( and who looked as though she'd just stepped out of the future—if you know, you know... #TheMatrix ), to our lovely waitress, the kind, humble, incredibly proud & super-talented owner, Hon, & Head Chef, Norine. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcome. Hon and Norine both took the time to come over, chat with us about the dishes and check that we were enjoying our meal, as did the hostess and our waitress several times throughout our visit. We will definitely be back, as we still have to try their delicious-looking lamb breast, which had unfortunately sold out by the time we were ready to order. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this unique and wonderful restaurant highly enough.

Amazing find in london Hackney Wick. I came to uncle hons around 2 months ago and forgot to post but should have as the food was amazing. Blending Chinese and American cuisine together into a BBQ fusion, this place wowed us and was so yummy. The food was delicious 🤤 Tender beef cheeks that melt in the mouth, chewy pulled lamb and my absolute fav, the peach tea glazed pork belly. Soft, sweet with a real taste of the peach tea, ribs were tasty. Rice was great to cleanse our palette. The only criticism (and it’s small) was the ordering and way it’s done. I hope they start up elsewhere now they have finished in their location. Fantastic

We had a delicious meal. It’s more of a canteen/very casual dining. DJ set, obvs! Staff were superb. Particularly the person behind the bar. It was really quiet for a weekend. We enjoyed the selection of meats and the miso aubergine was 10/10. I could eat a jar of the pickles and coleslaw was excellent. My only gripe was the food was not very hot but perhaps that is just the way it is served. I’d definitely recommend a visit here though before the whole area is completely gentrified.

Food was exquisitely prepared, and the flavours were rich, yet possessing hidden subtleties. The meal was a testament to Uncle Hon's mastery of the Texan pit, as well as the seasonings, spices, and herbs of different Chinese regional cuisines. Staff & service were amicable, helpful, and very professional. The atmosphere was generally nice, but the music was a tad loud (understandably so, since the seating area is in a bar with music venue, no one's fault).
