Jacqueline At The Chancery Rosewood

Very nice property, great food outlets but some (majority unfortunately) staff members attitude it’s just not acceptable. Doesn’t matter if I wear Hermes or just Uniqlo always feel judged and looked up and down like “why u here” I think I have to pull up in gold plated rolls Royce to be greeted nicely…Recently stayed in Rosewood Doha and didn’t experienced anything like this so wondering why. Was planning to book afternoon tea recently after they received reward for best tea in the world but I think I will pass now… shame

We had an absolutely perfect stay at the Rosewood Chancery in London. From the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome. The entire team was exceptionally friendly, attentive, authentic and professional. Our room was beautifully designed, very stylish, and thoughtfully put together down to the smallest detail. The location is also ideal for exploring London , yet pleasantly quiet. Overall, everything was outstanding: service, atmosphere, comfort, and quality at the highest level. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel.

The Chancery Rosewood is my favorite London’s hotel so far. I had some concerns because of Google reviews, especially since I had just stayed at Claridge’s, The Connaught, and The Emory all within the same month—but I didn’t experience any of those issues. The team is outstanding. From the very first day you send an inquiry email, they respond promptly (which is rare from other hotels), professionally, and are genuinely willing to accommodate every request. At this price point, it’s hard to find accommodation in London that offers airport transfers both ways (included in the price of the room), as well as completely flexible check-in and check-out times (we stayed almost whole next day since we had late night flight) I stayed with my daughter, and she was equally impressed. The pool team catered to her every request—they provided floaties and all the necessary children’s swimming accessories without us even needing to ask much. The hotel itself is beautiful—the ambiance, design, and food are all exceptional—but what truly sets it apart is the team. Their level of professionalism starts even before you arrive at the hotel. All praise from me.

Had afternoon tea at the Chancery Rosewood on 6th June. It was definitely a game of two halves. Very distinct halves. We started with a cocktail in Serra – Waiter was engaging/great, drinks were excellent, and the sommelier took genuine time to steer us toward a superb wine that was right up our street. She was exceptional. The manager even gave us an impromptu tour of parts of the hotel telling us some of the history. Lovely touch. The afternoon tea itself was a different story. We each ordered our preferred tea at the start - as you do in an afternoon tea. NEITHER showed up. Instead, we were taken through a flower tea experience and told to pick one as a "starter" tea, with the waiter explaining we could have as many teas as we liked throughout the afternoon. We never saw him again. And that flower tea, which we didn’t really want to begin with, ended up being the only tea we got for the whole afternoon, despite asking twice for what we'd actually ordered. A basic expectation of afternoon tea is, funnily enough, the tea! The food was hit and miss too. The sandwiches felt experimental. The pea sandwich had almost no flavour at all, while the garlic chicken sandwich was genuinely the best I've had at any afternoon tea, anywhere. A nice touch was rhubarb jam alongside the standard strawberry for the scones. Less nice however was the heavy reliance on gelatin across the pastries and cakes. Gelatin always feels like an easy crutch for chefs to use in styling pastries – I expected more from this type of venue. Small details didn't help either: When somebody came to clear the table, he took only some of the finished plates, but left the rest. I spilled a blob of jam on the tablecloth, expected it to be sorted when the table was cleared, it wasn't, and I had to ask. The whole experience was a bit half-assed and totally missed the mark at every occasion. At around £300, this is Claridge's or Raffles money, and service should match. It didn't come close.
