A quaint and warm market attached to the Coquine restaraunt that offers dine-in reservations, Katy Jane’s Oyster Bar offers an excellent opportunity to try a wide range of fresh seafood offerings.
The atmosphere is casual but the dining is upscale, with a lot of care and attention given to the food and its presentation.
Service was excellent from start to finish, with ample attention given even during our wait.
Cocktails were excellent, with our table trying the old fashioned and a few varieties of martini.
In addition to a wide range of top notch seafood offerings, we tried the asparagus, hushpuppies, half chicken, and pork schnitzel. All of these items offered a unique spin that added a lot of interest and flair to the dishes.
Whether you live in the Portland area or are visiting from out of town, it is an excellent way to enjoy fine seafood and other top tier offerings.
A wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was delicious; started with mussels and a side of fries, the pork sugo was the clear winner of all the plates (I only wish I could have enjoyed more!), and finished it off with a yummy fig leaf ice cream sundae. Everyone here was super attentive, always making sure our glasses and belly’s were filled.
The market has some great stuff too; beers, wines, chocolates, etc.
I use to come here almost every weekend last year because the coffee, baked goods and sandwiches were truly some of my favorite in town. I stopped going for a couple of reasons; the service was very unfriendly, I'm not sure if I was just getting people on their bad days (it happens!!) but it started to feel unwelcoming. I was also confused about ordering the sandwiches. They say sandwiches are available 11 to 2, and I would line up to order the sandwich right at 11 on the dot at the register, but I'd often be waiting around half an hour for a simple tomato sandwich with many, many orders coming out before mine. And since there was a lack of seating it was usually standing around for about 30 to 40 minutes. I don't think the experience was for me, or maybe I didn't understand something. Perhaps a good spot for a to-go order?? The food was awesome.
Beautiful haute bourgeois coffee / espresso / market right next to Mt Tabor. Super staff, excellent space, great service, my mocha was spot on! They have one of the best restrooms I've ever seen in a small shop. If you're going or coming from Mt Tabor Park, this is your refreshment spot.
It is a very cute neighborhood store that sells a variety of kitchen goods, breakfast treats and coffee. It's a great spot to warm up on a cool day after walking around Mt Tabor. I loved the ginger cocoa latte. It was delicious. I'm sure the baked goods were also wonderful. Next time!
