We were really excited to try Lielle given powerhouse Marcus Jernmark being a part of it and we were not disappointed. I am surprised to hear the restaurant just opened on February 12. We went on February 27 and the entire restaurant was running like a well-oiled machine. We were not offered any of the supplemental pastas others have discussed in their reviews, but they probably ran out before our 8:30pm reservation time. Along w the tasting menu, we went w a bottle of Hungarian orange wine that was lovely, and finished the meal w their 20-year tawny port and cognac. Each dish was uncompromising and purposeful. Some highlights, to me, were all the breads offered, from the small loaf w the amuse bouche to the croutons accompanying the radicchio in the squab course, to whatever that magic was w dessert that you cut w scissors. The texture of the chewy beet was unforgettable, indeed, that squab dish was legendary. We were honored to have Chef Marcus present a couple dishes to us himself; in fact, by the time we ended the meal at around 10:30pm, he was still making the rounds to each table. I found that to be incredibly endearing and spoke volumes re the pride he has to deliver any dish he can himself and to be available for any questions. The restaurant itself is breathtaking w such meticulous detail shown in every decision from the color of the walls to the unique stemware. I would be remiss if I did not also mention our special server, Bruce Lee, and his contribution to an unforgettable night. He has a special knack for making you feel like you’re the only ones in the dining room. He is disarming, kind, knowledgeable, and very good at his job. While $150/pp for a four-course tasting menu is somewhat reasonable compared to other tastings of this caliber, the bill does add up… but for the best meal I’ve had in the nearly 9 years I’ve lived in LA, I count myself lucky to have witnessed and partook in an experience that is deserving of at least one Michelin star, likely two, and won’t have any empty tables for years to come once word gets out.
Overall, a fantastic dining experience! Although just newly opened, Lielle has the potential to be a Michelin star establishment in the next cycle so I highly recommend getting in before they get big! The quality of ingredients and flavor combinations were fantastic and created well balanced dishes. I appreciated the technique behind the squab and abalone preparation, but the artichoke in the first course and the chewy beet in the third course was just next level chef wizardry.
Service was wonderful and accomodating. I really appreciate when the whole staff is knowledgable and excited about the dishes they put out. I could feel their passion about their food. Bruce Lee gave us amazing service and it was a huge honor and delight to have Chef Jernmark spend time at our table and serve us as well.
Restaurant is beautiful, elegant, warm, and romantic. The space is very inviting and you can tell every detail was handpicked and well thought out. The only thing I would point out is the music is a little too loud. It was difficult to have a conversation with friends seated across the table and also hard to hear the descriptions of the dishes being presented.
Dinner at Lielle in Beverly Hills felt special before the first course even hit the counter.
We sat at the chef’s counter overlooking the kitchen, and honestly, I could’ve watched that team work all night. No chaos. No shouting. Every movement was sharp, calm, and deliberate. You could feel how much pride went into every plate.
The meal opened with crisp radishes and warm sourdough with egg yolk butter that was so rich and silky it almost stole the show immediately.
Then the lineup started rolling out.
The dry aged bluefin tuna was clean, delicate, and deeply flavorful. The N25 Kaluga caviar felt indulgent without being over the top. The tilefish was poached perfectly, soft and buttery with incredible balance.
The dish I keep thinking about was the Spaghetti All’assassina with sea urchin and prawns. sweet prawns, rich uni. Every bite got better than the last. Easily one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had anywhere.
The California spring lamb was cooked beautifully and packed with flavor. Harry’s strawberries reset the palate perfectly, bright and fresh without trying too hard. Then the 30 month Comté closed everything out with this deep nutty finish that lingered in the best way.
What made the night stand out even more was the service. Fine dining without the stiffness. Everyone was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the food. It never felt rehearsed or forced.
Lielle doesn’t feel like a restaurant chasing hype. It feels like a restaurant operating at a level most places never reach. One meal in, and I already want to go back. Michelin stars feel inevitable here.
How wonderful to get such a super star chef Marcus Jernmark who created several 3 star Michelin restaurants like Frantzén and Zen. This menu is such a bargain and the wines were very reasonable. The atmosphere was very warm and loved the long stem candles. Waiters were all friendly warm and cheerful which made the evening more fun. Each dish was perfection and plated beautifully. The highlight was that Marcus was there and we got to meet him. Will defiantly return.
Had an amazing dinner at Lielle. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor - you can really tell how much thought goes into each plate. Service was friendly, professional, and attentive without feeling over the top. The whole experience felt polished from start to finish. Definitely one of the more unique and impressive dining experiences I’ve had in LA.
