Customer Perception
Customers praise the amazing, creative, and beautifully executed food, with many dishes being memorable. The extensive wine list and knowledgeable sommeliers are highly appreciated. The ambiance is generally considered decent, and the street charming, especially for outdoor lunch. However, service is a recurring point of criticism, with some experiences described as slow, inattentive, or even unprofessional (e.g., staff tasting wine, making faces). Table size for two is sometimes noted as too small. The lunch set menu is often highlighted as reasonably priced.
Additional Details
This is the first Noble Rot establishment, which has since expanded to other London locations (Soho, Mayfair). It functions as both a restaurant and a wine bar.
Lunch, especially on a nice day to sit outside and enjoy the calm street. Dinner is also popular for friends and special occasions, though service consistency can vary.
A brilliant, relaxed evening at Noble Rot. The wine was excellent, as expected, but the food from the bar menu was just as impressive — thoughtful, perfectly executed and clearly designed with the wine in mind. The desserts were a real highlight, with some fantastic pairings to finish. Knowledgeable, welcoming service without any fuss or formality. We’ll definitely be back.
Had heard a lot about Noble Rot so we thought of giving it a try. Ambience is decent but tables for 2 are too small if they seat you with a tiny round table, barely fits nibbles/food in addition to the wine. Go for a bigger table if you go there.
Cheese plate was very small, no option for a cheese board. Bread was very good and the anchovies as well. Some very good wines. Service however was slow and very poor for us. We didn't like the taster of a wine that we tried and the girl serving us didn't like it and made a face at us. My friend and I were really taken aback by it. The other servers were friendly. The taster wasn't free and we paid for it even though we didn't drink more than 2 sips. So we didn't understand such behaviour by the server. Needless to say, that interaction jaded our experience and we aren't keen to go back.

Finely selected seasonal dishes to entertain any palates. The Extensive wine list make it a wonderful experience with somms that know their wines. It’s a great place to grab a drink and have dinner with friends.

A wonderful personalised experience I will remember for a long time. I dined alone here on business. I really appreciated the service which was quick and knowledgeable but not a rush. Wonderful touches - I was greeted with “would you like some tap water?” THANKYOU! No one’s interested in 12 still or sparkling. I love the wine by the glass. Perfect for everyone to design their experience. The wines are ones I haven’t tried and I trusted the soms recommendation which I wouldn’t have chosen - really paid off.
I couldn’t manage desert but again, loved the fact there were two artisan ice creams available by the scoop so you come away satisfied, not feeling overfed and over charged. The one i went for featured raisins like jewels, soaked in my favourite Spanish fortified wine. The food speaks for itself and the portions are perfect. This business model will have customers coming back over the years rather than feeling like the can’t afford to dine out again this month, even though you should expect to pay for quality. A highlight

The food was genuinely some of the best I’ve had. Every dish we tried was outstanding: creative, delicious, beautifully executed, and memorable. We shared several starters and small plates, and I would happily eat every single dish again.
However, the service brought the experience down to three stars. At this price point and level, everything needs to match the quality of the food. Our wine was placed on the table without a cooler, which I had to request. Our glasses were never refilled, we were never asked how the food was, whether we needed anything, or whether everything was okay. We had to serve ourselves throughout the evening, ask for more bread, and wait a long time for a second bottle of wine.
There were also moments that felt quite surprising for a restaurant of this calibre. Plates were cleared before we were finished or left whilst adding more dishes, and when our second bottle arrived, I saw the waitress open it, taste it herself (it wasnt a cork), and then pour our glasses without asking us, which I did not find acceptable. I did not feel very welcome by the staff which is a real shame.
The food was incredible and I’ll be thinking about it for a long time, but the lack of attentive service really tainted the evening. For the prices being charged, the overall experience should feel special. As it stands, I wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing clients here or choosing it for a special occasion.
