Valet parking is available but not complimentary, which some customers noted as a drawback.
Additional Details
O-Ku Atlanta is located in the West Midtown area of Atlanta. The restaurant is managed by The Indigo Road, a well-known hospitality group.
O-Ku Atlanta is open daily for dinner. Ideal times to visit for a potentially quieter experience or to enjoy special offers would be during their Happy Hour, which runs Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Dinner hours are Monday-Thursday: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Friday-Saturday: 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and Sunday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
Walked into O-Ku on a Saturday evening and were able to get a table for two with no reservation, which was nice.
After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before our server came over. The first thing he told us was that he was “very busy” with the table of six behind us. That was pretty much the only other table he seemed to be taking care of, and it immediately made us feel like we weren’t a priority. Because of that, we decided to order everything at once: edamame, karaage chicken, and three sushi rolls.
He told us he’d space the food out so the sushi would come after the appetizers. Then he disappeared. About 20 minutes later, he came back and told us he was just putting in the sushi order. Apparently it had never been entered when we originally ordered. The service for the rest of the meal was pretty much the same.
The food was fine, but nothing that would make us want to come back. The chili oil edamame came out room temperature, which was odd. We ordered the Black Forest, Sake to Me Baby, and Baja California rolls. The latter two were probably the best of the three, but none were particularly memorable.
Parking is valet only, and it’s not complimentary.
Overall, the service was disappointing, the food was average, and having to pay for valet didn’t help. There are too many good sushi spots around Atlanta to spend another evening here
The service alone of this place deserves 10 stars. Tristen is the best server ever! She is so personable, takes care of the table at all times and is knowledgeable. She really made our night with her friendly personality and even if the food was bad I would give it a high review just based on Tristen. We got several apps, sushi and drinks and the fish was so fresh and buttery. Will be back!
Had such a great dinner here for my birthday last night. Our server was THE BEST she ran through the whole menu for me, gave great recommendations, and had great service throughout the night. The staff was also wonderful with the personalized menu and they even gave me a fun birthday present activity, a mini book nook. Super happy with the memorable experience!
I had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Josh was an amazing server—friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I visited for my birthday, and the staff went the extra mile by writing "Happy Birthday" on the menu, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. It really made the celebration feel special. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back!
Had a great experience at O-Ku on a Friday night. I arrived right at 5pm, when they were supposed to open, but the doors were locked. They let me in at 5:02 and were super apologetic about the "delay". It really was not an issue for me at all (it was literally 2 min) but the hostess, server, and assistant manager all came to apologize. They offered a free crudo and comp'd one of my drinks. That was not necessary but appreciated. The food was GREAT. EXCELLENT experience all the way around.
