I wanted to share my experience visiting the restaurant Popasul Dacilor in Chișinău. We made a same-day reservation and went for dinner, and I must say I was impressed. I highly recommend this restaurant for its traditional, authentic cuisine and the pleasant ambiance it offers. We visited during the winter holidays, so the place was beautifully decorated, and traditional music played in the background. We also requested a table on the third floor, and our request was happily fulfilled.
The menu was delicious, and everything we ordered was wonderful. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about wines. We asked for recommendations and were delighted with the late harvest wine from Fautor that he suggested. I definitely recommend trying it!
Overall, the experience was very positive. If you’re looking for a place with an intimate atmosphere, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The only observation is a bit dark on 3rd floor, hard to read the menu.
The platters were very good and traditional, and we really enjoyed the pies. I have to admit the solyanka wasn’t a highlight for me, but the bean soup with smoked meat was good. I’d happily come back for the atmosphere and the good food, especially the meat dishes

Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant. The food quality was far below what you would expect for the prices they charge. Nothing we ordered justified the cost, and the portions and taste were mediocre at best.
The service was even worse. The staff seemed completely untrained, inattentive, and unprofessional. It felt like they had no idea how to treat customers or provide decent service. We waited far too long, and the overall attitude made the experience even more frustrating.
This restaurant is overpriced, overrated, and simply not worth your money. There are many better places in Chișinău where you’ll get better food, better service, and much better value. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else.
