This spot is exactly what DC needed! Such a beautiful, chill atmosphere with amazing service…they really take care of you. The food and drinks were both delicious. I had the strawberry matcha refresher and the bacon & egg bagel with potatoes, and everything was perfect. Such a great spot to work from, grab breakfast, or just hang out. I’ll definitely be a regular! 💕
We stopped at Proper Café before heading back to Philly, and it was such a great experience! We had the chicken and waffles and steak and eggs, and everything was delicious. The drinks were amazing too!

I've known Marcus for years when working in DC gov. This establishment is amazing. The food is tasty and has amazing flavors. We had the chicken and waffles to go and the biscoff latte. What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood!

Stumbled into this place on their opening day. Absolutely beautiful interior and atmosphere. Great coffee & the staff were very friendly. Got a chance to talk to the owner. Wishing them all the best. Still ironing out a couple things, but to be expected on their first day!

First time visiting Proper Cafe & it won't be the last. It's a very chill & laid back cafe. The decor is nice & it's spacious.
I went during lunch time. I enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits.
