We came here for lunch. Staff is extremely friendly. The restaurant is a beautiful environment with gorgeous art. We sit on the patio and the umbrella protected us from the slight drizzle of rain. Our waiter, Luke deserves recognition for his vast knowledge on the menu and his professionalism the best server we had on this visit so far so if you’re a manager reading this, give him a raise 🙌🤣! Highly recommend the fish and chips your typical British food but the menu has so many options that we’re definitely gonna come back to enjoy! Who recommended the bread pudding for dessert so we’re gonna come by later to try that!
Shout out to our amazing bartender, Daniel. Thank you for making our 1st experience at Six Pence so amazing. He’s super funny, attentive, and on top of everything! We tried their soup of the day (sweet corn and crab chowder - super tasty); veggie of the day (broccoli - i love broccoli so i love this so much). We also tried pork cutlet special (not on the menu) but it was so good. Portion also very generous. Great time here 🤩🤩

Six Pence Pub is cute Irish pub in Blowing Rock! We had our dogs with us so we sat outside, but the inside looked so festive, fun, and full of energy. They were packed on a Friday afternoon, which says a lot.
The service was fantastic—our server kept checking on us outside and made sure we had everything we needed, which we really appreciated. We ordered the beef nachos and they were absolutely delicious—huge portion with tons of flavor.
Highly recommend stopping here, and I’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town! 🍻

What a fabulous lunch we had yesterday at Six Pence Pub on 1121 Main Street in Blowing Rock!
A 1/2 Roast “Beast” sandwich and a side Caesar Salad for me. My husband enjoyed a 1/2 Turkey sandwich with a side French Onion Soup.
I like my roast beef more rare but this I believe was Boarshead and even though it was more well done, it was absolutely amazing! Tender, moist, flavorful and so delicious!
I always love the white bread at Six Pence, not sure if they made right there but it’s thick cut and flavorful. No matter how good the fillings are in a sandwich, the bread will either make or break it. This bread made it. A perfect amount of of mayo, I forgot to ask for horseradish sauce and asked Chris our amazing server for some. He brought over our fresh horseradish. Oh boy, oh boy it was so good! It really kicked that delicious sandwich up a notch. I have to have horseradish with roast “beast”.
My Caesar Salad was loaded with grated Parmesan cheese and a decent amount of creamy Caesar dressing. It was wonderful.
My husband said his Turkey sandwich was delicious as well. Both sandwiches had very generous amounts of meats on them as well as beautiful tomato slices and lettuce leaves. The only thing we wished was that we had ordered a WHOLE sandwich instead of a half. Oh my, they were that good! 😋
My husband ordered side French Onion soup, nice beefy broth and oniony. Nice amount of Swiss or Gruyere cheese melted on a toasted slice of bread that floated on top of the broth and perfectly cooked onions.
We shared a Lemon Bar with blueberries and a raspberry sauce. It was decadent! Right amount of lemony tartness with the crunchy crust and blueberries.
Everything was presented so nice. You always eat with your eyes first at Six Pence Pub. Everything from atmosphere to food to service is always Perfection! We absolutely love this restaurant! We have a couple restaurants that we love on Main St in Blowing Rock. Six Pence is our top favorite. Whether you sit inside or out, it’s so relaxing and with a great atmosphere and decor. The patio is always spotless and serene. ❤️
I also want to make note of our excellent waiter because he deserved major kudos and recognition.
Our great waiter was Chris.
Chris has been serving at Six Pence for only two weeks. Let me just say that this young man was on it, outstanding, good sense of humor, very nice and so professional, checking in with us every so often. He wants his customers to be hapoy and satisfied.
Chris was also interested in US, how our day was etc, he didn’t just serve food, he is truly interested in the people sitting in front of him. First class mannerism and he spoke so eloquently. Very elegant and classy. He cares.
Chris was gem! If he didn’t know something, he found out. He did
an excellent job and he made such a good impression on us. So much so we wanted to give our praise for Chris to the restaurant manager. They needed to know what a great job he did. More servers need to be like Chris and any restaurant would be so fortunate to have him. We will let corporate know as well. We will also let corporate know what an excellent restaurant Six Pence is.
So thank you Chris for everything. You really went above and beyond. You did an outstanding job and we appreciated you. You made our day..the food and atmosphere there did too but you really stood out. You were noticed in a positive way and we are grateful for outstanding servers like you. You make a difference!
As we sat on the patio having our amazing lunch, a lot of people were passing by walking their dogs on a leash… and a black and white cat. Cat on a Leash! The cat obviously has done this before because he was strutting his stuff, tail up in the air. “Yeah Man.. we’re walking! We’re walking! Oh Meow!” Every dog we saw were loving their walks too. So happy and smiling. Yes, dogs smile.
We and everyone we saw that day, including the dogs and a cat were all enjoying a beautiful day in Blowing Rock! ❤️
