A highly acclaimed bakery known for its artisan sourdough loaves and 'melt-in-the-mouth' croissants, distinguished by its trademark pastel pink exteriors. It originated in Crouch End in 2020 and has since expanded to Primrose Hill, Hampstead, Essex Road, Highgate, and is now opening its first central London location.
was my lucky day as i got the last banana bread which was the one pastry i was desperate to try. the banana bread wasn’t the moist moist by itself but it had a solid banana flavour and a good soft, springy texture. the banana jam and caramel though?! ooooft. the banana jam tastes like literal banana bread batter and that caramel adds an extra level of sweetness and richness which just makes the whole dish so so delicious. my only gripe is that it was £6 so probably not something i’d get again but damn was it lovely.
Delicious coffee and pastries, everything feels thoughtfully made and perfectly balanced. The popcorn cruffin is an absolute must-try: crisp, buttery, lightly sweet and honestly unforgettable. A spot I’ll happily keep coming back to.
Update
After a good experience with coffee and pastries I have decided to spend 6£ on the sourdough bread (ordered via uber eats).
Unfortunately, the bread was terrible. Soft sponge packed in plastic wrap. To compare, I absolutely love San francisco sourdough from Gails, amazing crust outside while soft and pleasant inside. This sourdough was nothing like that, even M&S bread tastes better I’m afraid.
Best pastries and coffee in the neighbourhood, yet worst bread you could possibly buy.

Love this place. Arrived late on a 30 degree day…lovely iced coffee, aircon and comfy seat in the corner and a tiramisu croissant. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier!

We've been buying bread from Sophia for a few years now, and it is wonderful. Great to see this new, updated cafe with loads more cozy seats and a little courtyard at the back! It's in a great spot, and will definitely become a regular meeting place over a coffee and a bake.
