OMG! I absolutely love this place. Guinea grill is an authentic British restaurant with amazing meat dishes , pies, and an extensive wine list. The ambience is warm and welcoming. Excellent service. Alan and Stuart were wonderful.
We had oysters, scallops, fillet, spinach , brocollini, beef and mushroom pie, toffee pudding, bread and butter pudding and chocolate mouse. Yum. It was a feast and a treat for our tastebuds. Thank you.
I have had both lunch and dinner here. It is always a good spot for those who like their meat. Their wine list is good but we decided to have a Guinness on this occasion, which was poured well.
I had devilled kidneys on toast to start - the sauce was excellent. This was followed by the lamb cutlets which were nicely cooked and came with a traditional mint sauce. Their sides are excellent - I opted for the confit potatoes on this occasion.
Service was excellent. Appreciated that they show you some of the larger cuts at your table to aid decision making and also provide their own bread.
Although this is technically a Youngs pub at the front, it really is a restaurant and that is what it is famous for. Will be back.
Hubs and I had an amazing meal here.
The atmosphere was a bit lairy. The bar patrons were pretty rowdy and some aggressive shouting was overheard.
The service was fine, but wasn't overly friendly nor did they check back after starters or mains to see if everything was okay.
Had the crab tart, so delicious. Hubs had soup, also reported as top notch. Steaks- no notes, 10/10. Chips were properly done.
The bottled water (Kingsdown?) Is terrible, ask for San P or other.
Tucked in 30 Bruton Place, Mayfair, Guinea has a restaurant and pub. It’s busy during the entire week, so make sure you reserve your table for the restaurant. Anything in the menu is amazing and will not disappoint. For the restaurant it’s around £100pp+. During the week, it’s mostly frequented by people working in/around the neighbourhood. It’s a calmer, less touristy side of the town, so outdoor area is also enjoyable for a pint. The most important point is, it is on the Guinness Map, and rated 4,5 for its Guinness - and I agree (as an unofficial Guinness ambassador).
Ps: and might have one of the cutest restrooms.
Atmospheric old pub just off new bond street. We did a lunchtime and it was packed. Reservations essential! Nice service as soon as you step in the door with coats stored for you. The restaurant side of the place consists of several rooms. We were placed in the smaller room. More on that later. The sirloin steak we had was delicious and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. It really is a top class place for steak! It seems like Guinness is the drink of choice with food here. Wish I’d tried it now 😭. No issue with the food then, but at lunch time it’s very loud in the smaller room since it’s full. Difficult to talk without raising your voice. Ask to be seated in the larger room if you’re sensitive. It’s a business crowd at lunchtime.
