By far the best food I had in NYC! 🥇
• The mixed gyro from The Halal Guys was top-notch—well-seasoned, perfectly cooked meat balanced with fresh veggies and sauces.
• Mildly spicy (the guy even warned me when I said I wanted spicy… mild is okay but I think I can tolerate the really spicy one)
• Huge serving—literally lasted me 3 meals. Amazing value for money.
• Served hot in a sturdy container with utensils and extra white sauce (yes please).
• Staff were super kind and fast.
• Highly recommended if you’re in NYC!
Amazing food can't fault it. It was so juicy and flavourful. The portions are huge but worth the price.
It is an outdoor cart but there is nearby seating. There is another vendor across the street too selling the same. 10/10 and would recommend if you're after a good halal option when in NYC!

The Halal Guys started as a single cart on this corner and somehow turned into a whole movement, but the original spot is still the one people line up for at almost any hour. We went late at night after a show, and even then there was a real line, but it moved fast and the energy of the cart workers chopping and flipping meat in tight coordination was honestly half the fun of waiting.
We got the combo platter, half chicken and half gyro over rice, and the white sauce they pour over everything is genuinely the thing that makes this whole operation work. It's tangy and a little garlicky and ties the meat and rice together perfectly. The red sauce on the side has a real kick to it, worth using sparingly the first time unless you really want some heat. We also tried the falafel, which surprised us, crispy outside and not dry in the middle the way falafel sometimes ends up being from carts like this. The pita that comes alongside the platter is soft and a good vehicle for scooping up whatever sauce is left at the bottom of the container once the rice is gone. Everything gets piled into the same foil container, which sounds messy and kind of is, but in the best way.
There's a second cart just a block away that almost never has a line, but something about the original spot still pulls people in, even at one in the morning.

Probably the most famous Halal food truck in NYC. Interestingly when I was there at 8 pm, there was hardly any queue, about 5 people infront of me. Got the mixed bowl and the food was really delicious! The meats were tender and everything just tastes so good together.
Be warned that the red sauce is really spicy though.

I got the combo platter with chicken and beef gyro. It was excellent, the chicken was perfect. Rice was excellent too. I loved the white sauce. The regular size is enough for two meals. The wait was about 10 minutes. The staff were friendly and quick.
