Thong Smith is a renowned Thai noodle chain in Bangkok, famous for its 'upscale boat noodles'. The restaurant reimagines traditional boat noodles by using premium ingredients such as Wagyu beef and Kurobuta pork. The name 'Thong Smith' translates to 'Goldsmith' in English, reflecting its premium approach to a classic Thai dish. It offers customizable spice levels for its flavorful broth.
Customer Perception
Customers consistently praise Thong Smith for its thick, rich, and flavorful broth. The Wagyu ribeye is highlighted for its tenderness, making the meal enjoyable despite the higher price point. The Crispy Pork & Shrimp Wantons and Crispy Pork Fat are popular appetizers. While the main noodle dishes are highly rated, some customers found the texture of the meatballs to be 'off,' resembling fish balls rather than traditional meat. The Thai Coconut Milk Custard received mixed reviews. Overall, it's considered a delicious, high-quality, albeit pricey, option for boat noodles in Bangkok.

No specific best times to visit were mentioned in the provided information, but as a popular chain, it likely experiences peak times during standard lunch and dinner hours.
The Australian Wagyu Ribeye Boat Noodle was fantastic—rich broth and tender beef. Loved the sides too, especially the crispy wontons, chrysanthemum slushy, fried banana, and coconut custard.
Total came to just over 1,000 THB, which is a bit expensive for a noodle meal, but you're paying for high quality, great flavor, and a comfortable setting. Definitely worth a visit!
Many people rave about how good and it is a Must Try!
I got to admit I really like it! The soup is thick and flavorful, even the basil leaves are so fresh and not dead looking like some other places I had and thankfully the bean sprouts are served separately as I'm not a fan of it 😆 After eating at a few places I finally realize those thick looking "onion" is actually morning glory! I enjoy the crunch and the texture of it 😅
You can choose spicy level and I got 🌶️🌶️and it was quite spicy for someone who love spicy stuff like me. I did managed to eat again another day and decided to get just 🌶️ but I couldn't really taste the spicy. Guess I'll stick to 🌶️🌶️ the next time round 😆
The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the balls, be in beef or pork the texture just felt off and it does not feel like a real meat ball more like fish ball kind of feel, this was what I felt across all the other brands of boat noodles I had and also those street stall skewers also tasted like that.
Also had their 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 & 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐩 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧, and I love it. Fried when ordered so you get to eat them fresh, hot and crispy. Good amount of pork and shrimp so every bite felt shiok, the taste were also great that I didn't need to dip into the sauce provided.
I don't really fancy 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐅𝐚𝐭 but wow, this is love! Crispy and tasty! Now I'm missing it again 😆
I am a lover of 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐤 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐝 however this just didn't taste good, felt hard at the bottom and the coconut milk wasn't rich enough.
Overall I really enjoy the meal I had here, pricing is definitely higher but the quality is there.
The only thing I didn't like was finding my way there! The mall directory is in a mess! Bring me go merry go round before I found the place 🥴

Ugh Thong Smith is always so good. Went bougie and got thr wagyu ribeye. The meat is soo tender and soft. Really makes the whole experience more enjoyable! But totally unnecessary cause the broth is so rich and flavorful on its own. Oh I'd stick to 1 chili if you're not a big spicy person. The chili takes a while to kick in and it slams into you halfway through the meal!

TLDR: Worth to try once in a while. Delicious. A bit pricey.
Tried the famous boat noodle, apparently located in the mall, 7th floor (ride elevator or escalator). Ordered the beef and pork, with 1 chili spicy level (it was quite spicy). It was tasty, though not that aromatic. You could choose soup or non soup, and whatever topping you would like.

I ordered one bowl of noodles with an extra small side of vegetables and a glass of roselle jujube juice. The total came to 316 THB.
Portion Size
The noodle bowl is designed to be quite small, which I guess is intentional regarding the portion size. However, considering the price, I felt the portion was very small. For this exact amount of food, you would pay only around 60–70 THB at a regular boat noodle shop outside the mall. But well, this is a mall restaurant, so I suppose the rent and brand value are already factored into the price.
Taste
If you think the price isn't an issue, I'd say the taste might be a bit of a letdown. It was very average, nothing amazing or worth coming back for. Just genuinely mediocre. The quality of the ingredients was also just okay. How should I put it... I really feel like it could be much better than this.
Service & Cleanliness
Service: Good service, up to standard.
Cleanliness: Very clean. The dining area, seating, and staff grooming were all neat and tidy.
Overall
Honestly, it’s just average. You aren't missing out on anything if you don't eat here. Feel free to pass on this one.
