First time coming here in a year.... what happened? My original visit, the food was great and the place was packed. I came on a friday night and it was empty and the food was beyond disappointing.
Appetizer - Crab Mango Spring Rolls. These were just okay. 3 tiny rolls for $14 is really pushing it. The flavor of the crab was good, but wasn't getting much of a mango taste. Presentation also seems like an afterthought.
Entree 1 - Duck Breast. Genuinely the worst duck I have ever had, and I love duck. It was very fatty and chewy, with a strong metallic taste like blood. Honestly, it was repulsive.
Entree 2 - Swordfish. Cooked perfectly and seasoned well, the problem is its served on top of an oily slop of flavorless beans and mushrooms. If someone told me that came out of a can and then microwaved I would believe it.
Overall, we were utterly disappointed. I am wondering if there was a change in chef? It's a shame because the atmosphere and service are excellent, but we will no longer be coming to this resteraunt with so many other great options downtown.
Also, they asked if it was a special occasion and we said it's our anniversary, and we received no complimentary items which you would receive at other local resteraunts like Three Oak and Albanese.
We were disappointed with the Valentine’s Day menu. This was our first time here, we were really excited about it. I made reservations because of the reviews. I looked at the menu and was interested, the food sounded promising. I did not notice that Valentine’s Day had their own menu (this was my oversight). I realized the Valentine’s Day menu 2 days before Valentine’s Day. I took a look at the menu and was not too excited about it. We love seafood. So anything with mussels, calamari, octopus, scallops, fish etc is our go to. The regular dinner menu has all of these options. However, the Valentine’s Day menu had limited seafood.
We ended up ordering the lamb kofta and tuna tartare for our appetizers. My husband did not like the lamb kofta at all. I will admit they were very dry. I did like my tuna tartare, and I will emphasize like not love. My husband absolutely did not like it all. He said it was too fishy. It’s not our first time eating tuna tartare, so we do realize it’s raw, but there’s a difference between something being raw and flavorful and raw and just fishy.
Because we really wanted seafood, my husband settled with the crab pasta and I ordered the scallops. For the price they charge, we were expecting a lot more crab. There was barely any crab. My husband had to dig through all the pasta to locate lumps of it. He did not finish his plate, meaning left most of the pasta, the plate almost looked untouched at the end. My scallop sauce was delicious, very delicate and flavorful. The scallops were not overcooked. But they were not the best I’ve had. It was ok.
We did enjoy our dessert.
Overall, we were let down by the quality of food. We were expecting more since the reviews and so high.
We will try again because we originally wanted to order from the dinner menu. We will make reservations for dinner in the near future and update the review accordingly.

Thyme Rooftop Grille is an upscale New American restaurant located on Northampton Street in Easton. It's open Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Friday until 10:00 PM, Saturday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
I'd heard mixed reviews going in, but aside from the parking, there wasn't a single thing to complain about.
I kicked things off with crispy chicken dumplings, perfectly fried and served with a sweet-and-salty soy yuzu sauce, along with rich, pillowy pumpkin gnocchi.
For my entree, I went with the pasta of the day, fettuccine in a garlic-horseradish cream sauce with mushrooms, Swiss chard, and tender beef tips.
My friend went with the savory short ribs, served alongside a golden Irish cheddar potato cake, roasted root vegetables, and crispy shallots.
We wrapped things up with the salted caramel apple cheesecake and tiramisu for a sweet finish.
Our server was attentive throughout our meal, and the hosts sent us off with a friendly farewell.

I had a nice experience at Thyme overall. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance with a relaxing atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The food was good, but a few things left me wishing for a bit more.
The dumplings were one of the highlights flavorful, well-cooked, and nicely presented. The yuca fries were also very good, crispy on the outside and soft inside. We ordered non-alcoholic drinks, and while they were refreshing and nicely made.
I tried the short rib as well. It was tender and cooked well, but it needed more seasoning for the flavor to really shine. It wasn’t bad, just not as bold or memorable as I expected based on the reviews and the price point.
Overall, Thyme offers a pleasant dining experience with great atmosphere and some strong dishes, but a few items could use improvement. I’d still consider coming back to try other menu options and enjoy the view and ambiance again.

Everything about this place is perfect. The second you walk in, you feel like you’re being treated like royalty—every detail of the service is intentional. Our server, Hunter, was amazing and made sure we were taken care of the entire time.
The food is genuinely to die for. My friends and I all ordered different dishes, and every single one was incredible. I got the short rib entrée, which was unbelievably tender and flavorful. My friend ordered the burrata salad with chicken and the pumpkin gnocchi appetizer—both beautifully plated and honestly looked straight out of a Michelin-star kitchen. Thyme deserves so much more praise than it gets.
And to top it all off, they had my favorite dessert: tiramisu. It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday. We will absolutely be back. 💯
