We visited Umai Sushi for Valentine’s Day with our family, and it was such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and warm perfect for a relaxed family dinner.
All the dishes we ordered were beautifully presented, and the portions were just right. Most importantly, everything tasted fresh and delicious. You could really tell the ingredients were high quality, and each plate was thoughtfully prepared. Even the side dishes were well-balanced and satisfying.
The staff members were all very friendly and welcoming, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We heard that there is a new owner, and it truly feels like the quality and overall experience have improved even more.
To top it all off, the slice of cake we had at the end of our meal was absolutely outstanding honestly one of the best cakes we’ve ever had. It was the perfect dessert to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Whether it’s for a special occasion or a casual family dinner, this is definitely a place we would love to come back to. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! 🍣✨
This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to yet! The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. New owners took over in January 2026 ( less than a month ago) and they are very attentive and take special care of each customer to make sure that everyone is having a good experience. I was a little weary because of the negative reviews but a friend told me that the negative reviews were from the previous owners. I am sure glad that I gave the new owners a try. I was not disappointed!
It was Valentine's Day so we also got a cake and it was soooo good!
The food was so good that I honestly forgot to take pictures until we were basically done eating 😂 That alone should tell you how much we enjoyed everything.
The tempura was super crispy on the outside and light, not greasy at all. You can really tell the ingredients were fresh, and the dipping sauces paired perfectly with everything. The other dishes we ordered were also well seasoned and really balanced. Nothing felt too heavy, and everything tasted clean and flavorful.
The restaurant itself had a nice, comfortable vibe, and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. The food also came out at a good pace, so we didn’t feel rushed or stuck waiting around.
I actually wanted to take nice photos before eating, but once we started, we just couldn’t stop. By the time I remembered, most of the plates were already empty. Definitely a good sign!
I would 100% come back and would love to try more items next time. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and a chill dining experience.
Omg first time back in a while and WOW everything was sooo good!! There is a new owner now and wow it is definitely a different experience from before!! Highly recommend!! One of the best sushi spots in the area for sure!!
I wish I could rate the food! My girlfriend and I have tried to dine here not once, but twice, but have gotten turned away both times. As I work the evening shift at my job, there are limited options in the city of Atlanta to grab food, so we were excited when we saw an Asian spot open very close to where we live. So you can imagine our surprise when we were turned away at 10:00 when the sign on the door and the hours on google and Apple Maps said this place closed at midnight! We were greeted with not much enthusiasm and there were others in the dining room, and we were just shrugged off and told to make a to-go order. If the dining room is closed at a certain time, it should say so online and at the door! Not when we’ve already made the trip. The poor customer service on top of this just ensured we would not be returning. We both work in the service industry and we can understand not seating anyone 30 minutes before close, but two hours before was a bit of a shock. Such as shame, we are huge foodies and we were excited to try a new place in the Atlanta area.
