Win Son Bakery is an all-day cafe offering a unique blend of Taiwanese-American cuisine in a minimalistic and open space. It's known for its popular scallion pancakes and baked goods, serving as a more casual counterpart to its sister restaurant, Win Son, in Brooklyn.
Customer Perception
Customers consistently praise the delicious food, often stating it's 'worth the hype' despite potentially long lines, especially on Sundays. Popular dishes like the BEC scallion pancake and mochi donut receive high marks. Service is described as self-service, cafe-like, where orders are placed at the counter. While some find it a bit pricey for breakfast, many feel it's worth the money. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors, though it's generally more suitable for smaller groups (2-3 people).
Win Son Bakery is part of the Win Son family, which also includes the original Win Son restaurant in Brooklyn. The New York City location is described as an 'all day cafe' and offers a range of baked goods and Taiwanese-American dishes.
Lines can be long, particularly on Sundays around noon, but they tend to move quickly. Visiting outside of peak Sunday lunch hours might offer a shorter wait. The cafe is open daily, with extended hours on weekdays and weekends compared to Mondays.

Dropped by Winson Bakery down on 2nd Avenue around 10:00 AM after a long morning run, and it was the absolute perfect way to refuel. Since we beat the peak rush, there were no lines outside and we managed to get seated in about 10 minutes or less. However, you can definitely tell this place gets much busier as the day goes on!
I ordered the scallion pancake paired with an iced coffee latte, and both were fantastic. If you are looking for a satisfying, delicious reward after a hard workout—or just a great morning bite before the crowds roll in—I highly recommend checking this spot out!
the food definitely didn’t taste like traditional taiwanese food at all, but it was still really yummy !
the bec scallion pancake was served super hot right off the griddle, with the pancake having a crispy pan-fried exterior, soft and chewy texture, and an oily but fragrant taste from the scallions. it was SUPPERRR gooey and cheesy, the bacon was flavourful and salty, but the BEST PART was definitely the unique sauce on the side — it was so tangy and had a really special, bright ginger taste that really cut through the heaviness of the bec.
i also tried the double baked chocolate peanut butter bolo bao, which wasn’t really like a bolo bao at all if i’ll be honest, but more like a croissant. the chocolate top was crumbly and crunchy, sprinkled with peanuts, and there was a generous filling of gooey peanut butter between the flaky, buttery layers of the pastry. although it sounds super decadent, it actually wasn’t too sweet at all — i think the slight bitterness of the chocolate that they used was perfect for balancing the nuttiness of the pastry.
This one bakery is where I just had to back to.
The scallion pancakes with bacon egg and cheese were just amazing. All the flavors combined perfectly. Had to come back for the pastry. And that one surely didn’t disappoint at all. We had 3 different pastries and all of them (favorite the dates cake)was just amazing.
The drinks are also very refreshing.
The atmosphere is nice. And I like the outside seating option. This is a highly recommended place.
The hype is correct on this place.
The famous bacon egg and cheese scallion pancake was fantastic (I would suggest sharing as it's heavy) and t g e toffee chocolate chip cookie is good.
I'll return to try other items as it all looked delicious. Spacious seating inside and outside and fast service as well.
i went on a weekday at noon and there was no line. win son in williamsburg used to be my staple. i am so happy they expanded to manhattan!
i tried savory soy milk with tons of toppings, mochi donut, lu rou bun. all were sooo delicous. my fav is the soy milk and mochi donut. the donut was perfectly warmed up.
win son is always creative with their menu. although i’d say the price is not the most affordable, going here once in awhile really satisfies my cravings for simple yet unique menu.
this location is somewhat bigger than williamsburg. i can imagine how pack it will be during the spring and summer weekends…
