Zeniya in Kanazawa was a brilliant experience. We sat at the six-seat counter, which felt like a private dinner with the chef preparing each course just for us.
The seasonal kaiseki menu was excellent, refined, and full of thoughtful details, like sansho pepper blossoms and outstanding seasonal fish and beef. The staff were warm, engaging, generous with their time, and deeply skilled.
An intimate and memorable meal that captures the best of Kanazawa dining.
Zeniya Kanazawa has always been on my bucket list. After meeting Shin-san this January, I promised him I would find an opportunity to visit Zeniya in Kanazawa. I still remember him saying that the dining experience at the original Zeniya far surpasses what is offered in Singapore.
Today, I finally understand what he meant. I had the chance to taste the freshest local ingredients, but what left the deepest impression on me was how perfectly this meal embodied traditional Japanese cuisine. Every ingredient and piece of seafood reflected the best of the season—what the Japanese call shun.
The service from the okami was also incredibly thoughtful and attentive, down to the smallest details. I am truly glad that I was able to visit the Zeniya main restaurant. Seeing Shin-san again, still as cheerful as ever, made me especially happy.
This perfect dinner marked a flawless conclusion to my first trip to Kanazawa. I very much look forward to visiting Zeniya again—this remarkable place that continues to preserve the essence of traditional Japanese culinary culture.

Breathtaking kaiseki experience in amazing city.
I've attended many kaiseki sets, but this is the first one that made me write a review on the spot.
From the very first minute, you feel the incredible atmosphere and the high level of Japanese service. The chefs immerse you in the origins of the dishes and are very friendly.
The set itself is very balanced and emphasizes seasonal local produce. Incredibly delicious!

A beautiful meal with such thoughtful, locally sourced, and seasonal ingredients. Mr. Takagi personally guided us through our meal and made us feel at home.
Great sake as well and we even got to pick with sake glass we wanted for each bottle!

We just had a lovely dinner. Jiro is a wonderful chef that surprised us with delightful dishes while Tomomi was very attentive and made our night very special. It was our birthday and they gifted us with a special appetizer and a cake at the end. Was a memorable night ❤️
