Basic Mexican fare right on the cute little square. Sit outside or inside with plenty of open windows. Not a bad view in the house. Prices are very reasonable. We loved the beans that were served as I did with the totopos.
While visiting the Cathedral, we wanted to eat locally. I came across Birrieria Las 9 Esquinas.
I’m a picky eater, and do not eat goat, however, my husband does. I chose this place from the menu alone.
It’s a short stroll from the Cathedral. When we arrived, I smiled. The restaurant is so cute! It is an oasis in this beautiful centro! It is decorated with Mexican tile, with an exposed kitchen. It looks as if you are being welcomed into someone’s home. We ate outdoors on the palm lined terrace. It was so calming.
Immediately, a couple that was sitting near, engaged with two Mariachi who were there. The customer sang with passion and was quite good!
Immediately, our waiter brought us totopos, beans with queso, salsas, lime, etc.
I ordered chicken enchiladas enmoladas.
He ordered quesabirria tacos with consumé.
Both were delicious; and I would love to return to this beautiful environment to try more of their food.
The wait staff were kind, patient, and fast.
If you are near the cathedral, pass up all the places that are right there… walk a little bit farther to Birrieria las 9 Esquinas!
Such an all-around pleasant experience!

First restaurant in Guadalajara and it was amazing! We had the goat birria- recommended by staff and it did not disappoint. They also gave us complimentary chips, salsa, and purred bean dip. The atmosphere was what drew me to eat here and the food lives up to the hype.

This food was amazing and delicious! Ordered the tacos, the birria broth, the vegetables and chicken soup, also they served free of charge some type of bean puree and totopos which was also great. The accompanying salsas all worked a treat.
The goat birria was seriously amazing, and the soup also super delicious and full of flavour.
Right next to a beautiful little plaza and the restaurant itself is very nice

This little gem tucked in next to a cute square cleary honoring universities and learning is every bit as good as it looks. Friendly very helpful staff. The open kitchen a buzz with three cooks hard at work over aromatic pots and cooking fresh tortillas. If only pictures could convey the atmodphere and gentle aromas. Hunt this one out. You wont be dissappointed
