Black Belly has easily become a go-to not just for food (the pate en croute plate is a must if it's available!), but especially the seasonal, staff-created cocktails. A few months back we came in and had the pleasure of sitting at the bar with Helice, the bar manager. Her current concoction, the aptly named "Gator Farm", is hands down one of our favorite cocktails we've ever imbibed. Helice is warm, kind, and creative. We love her. Her cocktail is indescribable. If you are new to Black Belly, do not hesitate to try some of the Seasonal/Specialty cocktails, because you are likely trying something one-of-a-kind, and truly creative (and delicious). We can't wait to try the new seasonal releases in July 2026!
Really just an all around wonderful dining experience. Myself and my team spent a week in Boulder. We all agreed this was our favorite restaurant 🍽️ and we visited some really good places 👍. The overall ambiance is wonderful with a locker of meat showing 👀. The bar in the back was very quaint 😊. The star of the show was the food for sure. Excellent flavors. Everything cooked just perfectly. The service was on point and very well done. I had some very delicious scallops. I know it might be odd to order at a beef place, but they were excellent and I was in the mood for some. Very moist and delicious. Not cooked too long. Just an excellent dish. We had several appetizers, an amazing bread and a wonderful beef tartar. The menu even satisfied our vegetarian team member. I assure you you will enjoy this place for its food and everything else.

Stellar food. The market side has incredible sandwiches, and, to me, the best breakfast burritos in town. The butcher is great and always ready to discuss meats and what to do with them. The various market selections they have as well are great. I’m a particular fan of the hot sauces and their daily fresh breads, like the seeded sourdough and focaccia. Their chocolate chip cookies are great but I do miss when they had tahini chocolate chip cookies.
On the restaurant side, it gets even better. Really a fantastic special occasion meal, or really any night you’re feeling like some top tier food. Really chill vibe too. They host special events occasionally, so keep an eye out.

We couldn’t decide what to order and asked the staff for recommendations. The top suggestion was the pig ears—we decided to be adventurous and gave them a try, and they were incredible! For dinner, I went with the lamb, my husband chose the Delmonico steak, and we shared a side of broccoli. Every dish was delicious. Sitting at the chef’s counter was a highlight, too—we loved watching all the action in the kitchen. Highly recommend for both the food and the lively, interactive experience!

Food, service and ambiance all to my taste. Our waiter(s) was attentive and checked in on us at the right time. We had the mushrooms, pig ears, steak (there were a few choices I forgot the name) and the mussels. To me the steak was on the salty side but my son really likes it. Great spot to dine in the Boulder area.
