A true Jerusalem patisserie institution with outstanding pastries and baked creations. I was warmly greeted and seated by a hostess, received my menu quickly and the waitress was attentive throughout my visit. I enjoyed a capuccino and a lemon cake, both excellent. But there was no sugar on the table, had to go to fetch it from another table. For a place that clearly aims for a high standard of service and quality, attention to details would make the experience even better. Overall, enjoyable visit.
We ordered three dishes, the best one by far was the sweet potato and chestnut ravioli. The other dishes were fine, but the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced in Israel. The hostess and waitresses acted as though having to take our orders was not part of their job description but instead a cruel and primitive form of torture. The waiters forgot parts of our orders , and when I asked the hosted where the closest protected space was, she ignored me and pulled out her phone to start talking to a friend.
Expensive but tasty. The food was quite good but it was around 20 euros for a plate of pasta at lunch. Tap water was offered. Service was a bit cold but efficient. Decoration is good and has a great vibe.
I read a lot about this cafe being fabulous so there must be a reason. Anyway, after the waitress offered my mom and me seats outside (every seat inside was taken or booked), another waitress came over and started shooing my mom away (she has difficulty walking, she's 85 years old and Holocaust survivor), rudely declaring that the seat was previously reserved. Then they called another waitress, and then the manager: "Give up your seat, it's reserved!" Thank goodness, my mom defended her right to sit and stay where she was.
We ordered one pastry and coffee, nothing special, just a regular almond cookie with a slice of pear. This is an expensive, upscale place; we were probably just unlucky. I'll search for something more polite next time
We came early on a Thursday night, and were seated outside. Great atmosphere - lots of helpful and attentive staff, and the food is beyond delightful. They’re pastries are on a whole different level that any other bakery - and their fresh homemade pasta was such a treat. We tried a few of the dishes, and loved them all - there are only good options here. Breakfast served all day, too! :)
