Close Company (Las Vegas)
If you need a break from the usual Vegas sensory overload, we found the antidote. It’s a spot called Close Company, tucked away from the chaos.
The vibe here is superb—legitimately chill, not "trying too hard to be a speakeasy" chill. It’s the kind of place where you can actually hear the person next to you, which is a rare commodity in this town.
The Drinks
We did some serious field research (you're welcome) and passed around a solid lineup:
CC Old Fashioned
Adventure Gimlet
Rum Old Fashioned
Rusty Nail (respect for keeping the classics alive)
The winner, though, was the Oaxaca Old Fashioned. That was a recommendation from Martin, who was behind the bar.
The Service
Speaking of Martin—if he’s working when you go, chat him up. He’s super cool, easy to talk to, and honestly made the evening way more fun. Good service is rare; great service that feels like hanging out with a friend is even rarer.
The Verdict
Reasonably priced cocktails, a place to actually relax, and a bartender who knows his stuff. If you want to escape the neon glare for a bit, this is your place.
Rating: Great place to get a cocktail and chill out
We stumbled upon Close Company in Las Vegas by total accident while walking to Black Tap, and I'm so glad we did. They were hosting a Christmas pop-up bar, and once we saw the lights and decorations, it was game over, we had to stop in.
The holiday decor is over the top in the best way: twinkle lights everywhere, ornaments hanging from the ceiling, tinsel walls, and a full-on festive vibe that instantly puts you in the Christmas spirit. It's a small bar, so it can get loud and crowded, but honestly that just adds to the energy. When we walked in it was busy but manageable by the time we left, it was absolutely packed.
We ordered the Peppermint Nog, and it was genuinely delicious. Creamy, festive, and well-balanced. Price-wise, it was $21 including tip, which is pretty standard for Las Vegas cocktail pricing, especially for a themed pop-up drink. Totally worth it.
Shoutout to David the bartender! Friendly, personable, and clearly knows his craft. Solid drinks and great service go a long way, especially in a high-volume Vegas bar.
If you're looking for a fun holiday pop-up bar in Las Vegas, a place with great energy, festive cocktails, and a lively crowd, Close Company is absolutely worth stopping into. Just be ready for noise, tight quarters, and a whole lot of holiday cheer.
Would 100% go back.

I'm a fan of Death & Co NY and LA, but the menu here was so brief I wasn't sure what to expect. Once I sat down and got a drink though I was impressed! The CC old fashioned, and bitter melon negroni were both excellent and the mole old fashioned was just as good as the oaxacan old fashioned at D&C. The bartender was super friendly and the space was laid back and fun, I would definitely return next time I'm near the venetian.

This place is absolutely stunning, and the drinks are some of the best I’ve ever had! We tried Daisy de Sandia, the Mole Old Fashioned, and the entire Christmas drink menu. The Cranberry Rickey is refreshing and tastes like the very first Christmas ornament on the tree. The Elk River Sour is delightful—like spending a cozy day in a luxury cabin. The Somerset Wassail feels like the warm holiday cider everyone deserves at Christmas, and the Peppermint Nog is like a creamy peppermint dessert but elevated. Everything was SO delicious!
The service was amazing, and the atmosphere this time of year is truly beautiful. Highly recommend!

If you’re visiting the Viva food hall, definitely check out this hidden speakeasy! Right now it’s decorated with a fun ‘90s theme that brings back a lot of nostalgia. The atmosphere is unique, the details are awesome, and it’s a great place to grab a drink and take in the vibe. Whether you grew up in the ‘90s or just appreciate the throwback style, it’s a really cool spot that’s worth stopping by.
