Freight Fried Chicken

While at the Pearl, my friend and I were hungry for good fried chicken. After reading the great reviews of Freight in the newspaper, I was eager to finally try this place in the Food Hall. Boy, was I disappointed. The prices are fair considering this is the Pearl, but the service and food were poor, to say the least. After ordering two three-piece chicken meals, we waited 40 MINUTES to get our order. After 20 minutes, we went to ask if our name was called, only to find out that they had not even started on our order. When our food finally arrived, we were surprised to find two very tiny drumsticks and a thigh. These must have been from the tiniest chickens, as these pieces were very, very small. The chicken tasted fine to me, but they were nothing special. Our sides of macaroni and cheese, however, were awful and pretty much inedible. They tasted extremely salty, ruining what should have been a very tasty side dish. On the positive side, I did tell the cashier that the mac and cheese were awful and he gave us a couple of bags of chips. All in all, I'd go to any fast food chicken place over this disappointing stand at Pearl's Bottling Department.

Freight Fried Chicken inside the Bottling Department at the Pearl keeps things simple in the best way. I got the chicken tenders and they were flavorful, juicy, and seasoned really well with a crisp, golden coating that had a great crunch without being greasy. Every bite tasted fresh and satisfying. The sides look incredible, and there are multiple dipping sauces to choose from, which makes it easy to mix and match flavors depending on your mood. The setting at the Bottling Department adds to the experience too, with a lively food hall vibe that makes it easy to relax, hang out, and enjoy a casual meal in the heart of the Pearl. Solid fried chicken spot I’ll definitely come back to when I’m craving something quick, tasty, and well done.

Nice fresh chicken joint in the heart of the pearl. Meal was really tasty but be prepared for a bit of a wait due to location and they could fresh. Once you have your meal, you can sit back and let them jump start your tastebuds.

cashier was friendly, workers were polite and made sure food was exceptional. i got spicy chicken sandwich, seasoned fries, & honey mustard sauce. if you don’t choose to eat here out of the rest food shops you’re missing out !
