I ordered chief’s choice and a glass of Riesling.
The wine was not chilled enough, almost room temperature. The meatballs were just little better than from IKEA and definitely overpriced. They have too much attention and hype.
I would recommend to go to any Swedish restaurant with good rating and order meatballs. They will be much better and cheaper
This place is only to try meatballs from some unusual animals
One of Stockholm’s most famous places for Swedish meatballs, so it was our very first stop after arriving in the city. We really liked the presentation and the sauces served with the meatballs. The lingonberry sauce wasn’t exactly to our taste, but it paired surprisingly well with the meat.
We tried the Pasta Linguine & Balls and the Planksteak For The People. The linguine dish was excellent—the pasta and sauce were so good that we’d happily come back just for that. As for the meatballs, we preferred the beef version. The reindeer meatballs felt a bit heavier and tougher for our taste, so we’d recommend the beef option if it’s your first visit. Also, make sure to try the garlic bread and the craft beers recommended with the meatballs—they were both excellent! 😋
The restaurant is smaller and more casual than we expected. Since it’s very popular with both locals and tourists, there’s often a queue outside. They don’t take reservations, so everyone waits in line for a table. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit.
Definitely one of Stockholm’s iconic food spots and well worth a visit if you’re in the city. 🇸🇪🥩🍺✨
This place came up on multiple recommendation lists and it did not disappoint! We were seated at the bar in front of the kitchen, so we had a really nice view of all the work going on. The ambiance in the restaurant was warm and lively. And the options! Sooo many meatball options, and the option to veganize the classic swedish plate was so nice. Super smooth, rich mashed potatoes and delicious sauce on the meatballs! Definitely a must-try for any first-timers in Stockholm.
THE HYPE IS REAL!
I was worried that this was going to be a touristy place with a big mark up and an ok offering… but it’s the opposite.
The service is top notch, quick, efficient and super helpful. The food is brilliant, they do what they do, but they do it exceptionally well. The vibe is great, layout is fun, decor really good, beers and other drinks have a great offering, it’s all round a great night out.
For American tourists I would suggest ordering larger portions as these are European portion sizes, for Europeans, I did 8 balls and it was perfect.
I would definitely recommend booking within the morning booking window, or if you miss it like we did, 6:20pm there wasn’t a queue, but there was by 7pm.
Top notch work, felt like local ownership and offer as much of Stockholm does.
Go.. now.. why are you still here… go!
If you’re in Stockholm, definitely stop by this place as soon as you can because you’d want to come back for sure. No reservations. They do one thing and it’s excellent. As name suggests it’s all about meatballs, but you can choose type of protein you want. The reindeer, moose, bear, dock, chicken, traditional, anything you like. They also have a vegan option. Highly recommend. Also located around some cool shops and bars.
