From out of town. Came here on a whim. Excellent food and service. My lobster roll was tremendous. I don't care what it costs. The lobster was piled high. Bacon wrapped shrimp were a hit also. Big oysters for a decent price. Unfortunately, the parking sucks. Make sure to take pics of the cars next to you. You're guaranteed to have door dings. Ask me how I know?
I love this restaurant! Food is fresh and prepared with excellence. Our server was professional, attentive and knowledgeable (Chris maybe). I had muscles in a garlic wine broth. Excellent flavor and super clean. Lobster rolls are excessive but not excessively priced. Beautiful deck area as well. Great experience and I can’t wait to go back

I was invited by the head chef of Shipyard and received excellent service. My family and I were celebrating my birthday, and we were well attended to by the waiters. The food was wonderful, especially the very tasty salad, which seemed to have been made with great care. I thank the entire team of professionals at Shipyard Tavern. Thank you very much for the kindness and attention.

Loved the Shipyard Tavern! The lobster roll was delicious, with a generous portion of fresh lobster meat. The best I've ever had. The clam chowder was brimming over with clams. The wait staff was friendly. And the view of the port was lovely. Great meal. Great ambience. Highly recommended!

The Shipyard Tavern is in the old Perriwinkles/Riptide location on the causeway. Nice inside, and the nautical theme carries well. Menu is diverse - beer selection is strong, and the service was excellent. Bar area seats about 20 and has 3 televisions and a great view of the Essex River from one side. Couple booths and a decent sized dining area too. Worth a visit...
