Phenomenal setup for a large band for a small crowd venue. Staff is great. And main bar outside of the concert area is set up for singles, duals, or groups to have space to hang together. Pool tables as well. Definitely a class spot and hidden jewel on the Northshore.
First time at The Cut last night and the bartender refused to come acknowledge our group sitting at the bar. We stayed and patiently waited for almost 40 mins. I finally got her to acknowledge me and she stuck her finger in my face and told me to wait as she called the bouncer over and pointed at our group and asked if we were all 21+ and if he had checked our ID's. We are all 30+ years old and obviously ID'd at the door like every other customer who came in. I tried to get the bar back's attention and the bartender called him over and told him not to talk to me. Very strange!
Needless to say, after spending another 10 minutes waiting for her to come take our order our group left and the business lost out on $200-300 worth of drinks and food that we were going to buy throughout the night to support the local DJ and the new business.
Very unfortunate this ladies bad attitude led to a large group of possible customers to leave no wonder why everyone struggles to stay open the customer service is horrible!

PATRONS BEWARE. If you’re looking for a place that tests your patience more than your taste buds, you’ve found it. The experience starts with the welcoming aroma of what smells like someone threw up. Five stars for authenticity, I guess.
We’re in town for the World Cup and asked for the Wi-Fi password. Apparently, there was “no Wi-Fi”—despite standing under a network called “The Cut.” After pointing that out, we were told they simply couldn’t give us the password. Fair enough… I guess the Wi-Fi is VIP-only.
Then we committed the unforgivable crime of asking for a half pepperoni, half cheese pizza. Apparently, that’s asking too much in 2026.
To top it off, it took about 15 minutes to get a second round of drinks. It was pretty clear the staff couldn’t keep up with a busy crowd. This place feels more like a small-town bar that wasn’t prepared for an event of this size.
If you’re visiting Gloucester, do yourself a favor and skip this place. Head over to Minglewood Harborside instead. It’s right on the waterfront, has a much better atmosphere, fresh seafood, sushi, cocktails, live music, and, in our experience, a far better overall vibe for visitors.

I liked the venue. The acoustics were very good. The staff was friendly. Ordering food was problematic. Their QR code ordering system was confusing and no one could explain it. I did eventually get to order food at the kitchen. The chicken Parm was delicious. The band was awesome!

We held the signature fun/teambuilding event of our annual company retreat at The Cut in May and it was, without question, our best one yet, and that's saying something, as we've been coming to Gloucester for five years running.
Sarah, Tom, and the entire staff made the planning process genuinely effortless and offered so many amazing ideas to bring our vision to life. As hospitality consultants, we hold service to a high standard, and The Cut cleared the bar in every respect. The communication was seamless, the flexibility to accommodate our needs was refreshing, and the creativity and attention to detail on the day of the event was exactly what you hope for but don't always get. This team has access to the BEST names in entertainment and somehow worked it all in to our budget.
We had 35 team members join us, many traveling from out of town, and The Cut delivered on all fronts , including top-tier entertainment, outstanding food, and a one-stop experience that made the whole event feel cohesive and special. A few of our team members had grown a bit tired of our usual Gloucester spots, so expectations were mixed heading in. By the end of the evening, the consensus was unanimous: this was our best company event ever.
If you're planning a group event of any size and want the coolest venue and a team that truly gets hospitality, look no further!
