Lunch at Town.
Some fantastic food. Well cooked, quality produce. Really tasty. Top notch, friendly service in a cool, buzzy room.
£34 for a snack+ 3 courses is amazing value for Drury Lane/Covent Garden. We did add bread (great gravy dip) and another snack however it’s a proper bargain.
Available for lunch, early dinner and Saturdays.
We will be back, no doubt. Highly recommended.
The interior feels like a spacious retro clubhouse with a really stylish vibe. I tried the weekday quick lunch menu, which felt like good value, especially since the à la carte options are on the pricier side.
The potato sourdough was nice, although I personally didn’t love the house gravy. The steak tartare was fantastic, and the blood orange sorbet was the perfect way to end the meal.
Excellent value set lunch menu and a really enjoyable experience. The steak tartare was fantastic and the pork collar was incredibly tender with delicious garnishes. Service was polite and attentive.
The only downside was a slightly slow kitchen, so it’s not ideal for a very quick lunch. That said, the quality of the food made it worth the wait.
Would absolutely recommend and look forward to coming back.
I’m struggling to align my experience with the many 5-star reviews here. While the interior design and ambiance are nice, the food simply didn’t deliver. We ordered eight dishes, only two of which we would consider ok.
The radishes in the 100-acre radishes were high-quality, but served on a thick one-note dip that didn’t complement the vegetable. The Kashmiri saffron risotto was unfortunately inedible due to being aggressively over-salted and we sent it back after one bite. Similarly, the vegan curry felt disjointed, less like a cohesive dish and more like a collection of leftover side vegetables (roasted roots and tenderstem) dropped into a sauce. The accompanying flatbread resembling roti lacked the expected texture and flavour.
On a positive note, the staff handled our feedback with grace. They proactively removed the over-seasoned dishes and the curry from our bill, which we appreciated. Perhaps it was just an off-day for a Friday afternoon, but based on this meal, the culinary execution hasn't yet caught up to the beautiful setting.
The Best Restaurant in TOWN, their Potato Sourdough from 8 months Yeast is fantastic, The Steak is superb, recommended! and Risotto with Bone Marrow is great as well and The Dessert is just perfect. The decoration is Top! I have walked pass and seen this shop from scratch until now. Absolutely grateful to have such a good Restaurant in Drury ln. Best in TOWN.
