Cafe Tulum

What a great addition to Georgetown! We absolutely loved Café Tulúm. The tuna tostada was delicious and incredibly fresh, but the octopus was probably my favorite. It was super tender, perfectly seasoned, and honestly one of the best octopus dishes I’ve had in DC. The shrimp tempura taco was also a huge surprise. Really unique, crispy, flavorful and something I would definitely order again. We also had margaritas, which were excellent and went perfectly with the seafood and tacos. But what really makes this place special is the atmosphere. You walk in and genuinely feel like you’ve left Georgetown and landed somewhere on the beach in Tulum. The greenery, music, lighting and whole vibe are beautiful without feeling overdone. I’m really happy to see a restaurant like this open in Georgetown. There are plenty of great restaurants in the neighborhood, but I can’t think of another place around here that combines a seafood-focused Mexican menu, tacos, tostadas, margaritas and this kind of beach atmosphere. Definitely a breath of fresh air for the Georgetown restaurant scene. We’ll be back!
