This is, hands down, the best ramen spot in Ottawa. Even after traveling to Japan and trying countless bowls of ramen with all kinds of unique broths and flavors, I still find myself coming back here. It has remained my favorite.
There’s just something about this place that feels like soul food. Every bowl is rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. It’s the kind of meal that reminds you of visiting your grandma for your favorite homemade dish comforting, satisfying, and guaranteed to put a smile on your face for the rest of the day.
If you’re looking for authentic, consistently amazing ramen, this is the place.
Amazing staff and atmosphere, but the veg misou soup is horrible. The broth is bitter (misou soup should be salty and savory), onions were undercooked and pungent (in an onion soup...), and the noodles were completely overcooked and mushy despite having eaten my meal pretty quickly.
Maybe some other items are good, but I would never eat the veg misou soup again. I feel like vomiting, even if I am very open minded with food.

Back for the second time after quite a while, and we’re happy to see that the flavour and hospitality are just as wonderful as ever. We tried black miso ramen, vegan ramen and fried chicken. Sparkling sake was good as well

I’ve been coming to Santosei Ramen for the past five years, and it has consistently been one of my favorite spots in the city. The fact that I keep returning says everything — the quality here never wavers.
The service is always quick, easy, and welcoming. Whether dining in or grabbing takeout, the staff make the experience smooth and enjoyable. Even on busy nights, they keep things moving efficiently without ever sacrificing friendliness.
The food itself is what keeps me coming back. The ramen is consistently delicious, with rich broths, perfectly cooked noodles, and toppings that always taste fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Every bowl has that comforting balance of flavors that makes ramen such a satisfying meal. I’ve tried different menu items over the years, and I’ve never been disappointed — it’s clear that they maintain a high standard across everything they serve.

This is a wonderful place, very clean and the staff are nice. I had my very first bowl of ramen here and I'd recommend it for anyone that wants to try it or enjoys it regularly. One of the staff, Ryu, stood out to me as being very kind, gracious and intentional down to the smallest detail (like the way he set down our food, drinks, etc.). Would recommend!
