A Culinary Gem in Hyderabad: Theta Theta Telugu
If you are looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Hyderabad, look no further than Theta Theta Telugu. My recent visit to this remarkable restaurant left me thoroughly impressed, not just by the incredible authentic food, but by the genuinely outstanding hospitality that accompanied it.
The absolute stars of the menu were, without a doubt, the meat dishes. The Mutton Dum Pulao is nothing short of awesome. Every grain of rice is perfectly cooked and infused with a fragrant, aromatic blend of traditional spices, while the mutton itself is incredibly tender, succulent, and falls right off the bone. It is a masterclass in slow-cooked perfection, balancing robust flavors without ever being overwhelming. Equally spectacular was the Shahi Mutton Keema. True to its royal name, it boasts a rich, velvety texture and a luxurious depth of flavor that I absolutely loved. The minced meat is cooked to absolute perfection, soaking up the decadent, perfectly spiced gravy, making it a must-try for any true meat lover.
However, what truly sets Theta Theta Telugu apart from the countless other dining establishments in the city is the unparalleled service. When you visit, please make it a point to look for Sujit. He is, without exaggeration, one of the best hosts I have ever encountered in Hyderabad. Sujit’s warm, welcoming demeanor, combined with his intuitive attentiveness, elevates the entire meal from a simple dinner out to a genuinely memorable experience. He navigates the floor with a genuine smile and ensures every single guest feels completely at home.
Theta Theta Telugu delivers on all fronts—exceptional, mouth-watering food and world-class, personalized hospitality. I cannot recommend it highly enough, and I will certainly be returning soon.
I recently dined here and had a mixed but overall satisfying experience. The meal included dishes like Chintapandu Ghee Prawns, Mutton Chops & Seena Roast, Mutton Dum Pulao, Ghee Parotta, Thalimpum Mokka Jonna Custard, and Chicken Nei Roast Pulao.
The standout items were the Chintapandu Ghee Prawns and Chicken Nei Roast Pulao—both were rich in flavor, well-cooked, and worth trying. The Mutton dishes were decent, though slightly on the heavier side in terms of spice and oil. The Ghee Parotta paired well with the gravies.
The Jonna Custard dessert was unique and a pleasant surprise, adding a nice traditional touch to the meal. Service was smooth, and the staff handled multiple items efficiently.
On the downside, the pricing feels a bit premium for the portion sizes, and the additional service charge (though optional) adds to the final bill.
Overall rating: 4/5
Great for trying flavorful, rich dishes—especially if you enjoy Andhra-style cuisine—but be prepared for a slightly higher bill.

Coffee & Theta Theta Telugu are located in same building.
Theta Theta Telugu -
We visited for dinner. The menu is quite limited, but you can mix and match items to create satisfying combos. We enjoyed Parotta paired with Peanut Vankaya curry, followed by Pappannam served with an assortment of mini sides. The flavors were outstanding—delicious and well-balanced. Even though the combinations were new to us, they felt surprisingly natural and enjoyable. The waiter was patient, attentive, and helpful in guiding us toward the best choices.
The only downside is the sides policy: they don’t serve chutney even with dosa or idli, which feels a bit restrictive.
Coffee Sangam -
Dropped by for breakfast and tried their signature offerings. The mini poori with hummus was really tasty, and the dosa was solid too. However, the portion sizes are noticeably small for the price. Still, the ambiance is pleasant and welcoming overall.
The filter coffee (their main highlight) was decent in taste—no major complaints there—but I wasn’t a fan of the cup design. It’s not ergonomic at all; it spilled easily when I tried pouring it into another container. Apart from that, it’s a nice spot.

Long review ahead
My friend has been to this place before and just by looking the aesthetics of it. I really wanted to try it as well. So one day after we finished our dinner elsewhere, we thought we will go here for deserts. We ordered jaggery and almond Boba tea and Kobbari Rasmalai, both were amazing. That is what got me hooked to this place. Kobbari rasmalai was perfection. Truly master chef level stuff.
But one thing to mention is the manager or some person who was in charge of the tables. He was so visibly disappointed with the fact that we ordered only deserts, we didn’t bother much because we actually like the food.
Next day, we planned on going there for the lunch. To my surprise, everything tasted very mid. Nothing stood out to me, specially the recommendations the waiter was giving were all very, very mid.
Food we tried:
1)Mokkajanna custard as our waiter recommended. It was just ok. Nothing extraordinary.
2)Mutton starter was also just like any other mutton starter in a restaurant. Then our waiter recommended 3)mango kobbari curry in vegetarian, main course. Which was so mid, there was literally no taste of mango. We ordered 4)Parotta to eat with it, and they were of the size of Idlis. So basically two mini parottas. Why can’t waiter tell us about this before hand? So we inevitably had to order rice, hence ended up ordering 5)chicken nei roast pulav. Which was just ok. Nothing extraordinary.
For deserts, we ordered beetroot Halwa Samosa (you like this, if you like gulkand flavours) and Mysore Pak crumble(it’s not bad, but it’s not great either).
Previously, when we had seafood, it was good. But for vegetarian and chicken/mutton, this is definitely not worth the price. We spent around 3500 for two people and were not satisfied with the meal. Waiters need to give good recommendations.
One thing I have a beef with is:
There were plenty of the empty tables within the restaurant, but we were, made to wait for 10-15 minutes. Once we entered the restaurant, we could see so many empty tables around us. I think this is just one of those tactics to create a sense of hype. Totally stupid tactic.
TLDR: Food is okay, but absurd for the prices. KobbaraiRasmalai is exceptional. If you are visiting, just try that one thing and save some money. Seafood is a bit better than others.
