Key Information
Cue Point London is a British Afghan BBQ specialist that has transitioned from a decade of successful pop-ups and residences to its first permanent home in West London. It's known for its unique Texan-Afghan BBQ fusion, featuring house salts, sauces, and jams that create distinctive flavor profiles. The venue boasts a 'garden bar grill & smokehouse' with a magical garden ambiance, making it an ideal spot for casual dining and hosting events.
Customer feedback is mixed. Many praise the superb brisket, delicious naan, and flavorful lamb shank, highlighting the unique and bold BBQ flavors. The 'magical garden' ambiance is frequently lauded as a stunning venue, especially for spring to autumn visits. However, common criticisms include inconsistent service, long wait times for food, small portion sizes relative to the price, and issues with kitchen closures affecting dessert orders. Some customers also reported food lacking flavor or arriving cold, and felt their concerns were not handled professionally.
Additional Details
After a decade of operating as pop-ups and residences, Cue Point London has established its first permanent location at 41 Bramley Road. This came to my attention because of its social media popularity. The concept of Afghan Texan barbecue is very interesting so we got there, unfortunately an hour earlier than they open. The manager showed us around the garden, the barbeque area and we met some of the staff - so of course we came back an hour later for the food!
The skewer and brisket were both excellent, although they were lukewarm, which was a shame, considering it was just the start of service. The lamb shank and pulao were very good, but again the temperature of the meat was cooler than should've been. The lime pepper chicken bites were piping hot, and were decent, but nothing special. We ordered the peach crumble was dessert and that was nice too.
All in all the food is definitely tasty, and comes out super quick. But I was just surprised at the fact that their speciality is the barbecue and everything was just a little off temperature, even though the flavours were great.
The ambience is great, especially if you're looking for a pub with a wonderful garden space.
Above all, the service cannot be better. All the staff from the waiters, to the chefs, to the bartenders, and even the management - they're so smiley and cheerful. One of the bartenders was so nice and helpful with my order, I tried to leave a tip and he didn't let me because "it's nice to serve nice customers". Bizarrely wonderful people.
Like many others, i saw a reel online about the re-opening of Cue Point and Afghan Texas Bbq sounded very interesting and inviting; so i immediately made a booking for 10 days later. The place was easy to get to and very close to the Latimer Road tube stop. We had booked for a saturday late afternoon, the indoor bar area was empty at that time , but since it was a good spring weather day , the 'garden' area behind (Where the grill is) was fairly busy and packed but we got a good table, though we did move from the one right in front of the grill for it was too much smoke to one much further away at the other end in a covered area which was much more comfortable.
Its a little inconvenient since its a largish space to have to go all the way inside to place an order at the bar even for the food, though there seemed to be enough wait/service staff, but we didnt mind. the starters came soon enough and then we kept waiting for the mains.. the servers then told us the grill was closed but when we showed them that we had ordered it at the same time..they rushed to find out order and were luckily back with the 2 items soon. The Brisket in the grill/main and the starters (burnt brisket ends) was just superb..delicious...loved it!!..The chicken skewer was flavourful too..but fairly mild. My partner really thought the lamb shank was great! the naan was really yummy!! Then came the 2nd pain point. we had been told/and were again told by 3-4 different people including the person who took our orders twice at the register that we could order the desserts at any time and i was REALLY looking forward to having them and had ordered the rest of my food accordingly as well. but then they just refused to give us desserts insisting that the kitchen was now closed..and nothing could make them change their minds. this was highly unprofessional and ruined what would have been a lovely experience and left a bad taste in our mouths.
Having said that, Rola took great care of us and it was so nice to meet her and Amira too.
The garden has a lovely ambience especially for the spring to autumn time and we would love to go back there but not sure if its a good idea because of this experience and the experiences of others i only read later now.
I do wish the team the very best and hope things become better very soon!

We had the full hog… well pretty much all the meat 🍖 types and cuts you could have. Each being lip-smacking in cut, texture, flavour and delivery. Including:

OAK SMOKED LAMB SHANK
LIVE FIRE CHICKEN
BURNT CEVICHE

Yeah, pretty darn tooting!😍
The Garden Bar Grill & Smokehouse is also an absolutely STUNNING venue that has a magical garden. I can see this being an epic place to host a party, large or small, with just about the best BBQ you can find from the lovely team! Thanks Mursal & Joshua for an incredible time and feast😋🙏
A great new Barbeque set up at Cue Bar. Delicious smoked meats and fish served in one of the nicest garden patio set ups you will find in London.
A really great spot to go with groups as a lot of space & niches for large parties too.
I loved the brisket & the prices were fair too.
They have a good selection of beers & a large indoor bar area where you can watch Sport. A must-go!
My friends and I were absolutely blown away by this place and the meal. We are still thinking about how tender the brisket was and how delicious the sea bass was. We also loved Mursal, she was so kind and made us feel so welcome. Lots of people were here enjoying the World Cup too. Would absolutely recommend it here. So soo so good!!!!
