Had a lovely dining experience at Claudine to celebrate my birthday. The service staff were professional, attentive, and friendly. Although the restaurant has an elegant setting, the atmosphere felt relaxed rather than overly formal.
The beef tartare was prepared tableside, and I appreciated being able to adjust the seasoning to suit my own taste. The French escargot was enjoyable, though I felt it was missing a little depth of flavour. For the mains, we had the sea bass, which wasn’t on the regular menu. It was beautifully cooked, fresh, and delicious. I love the dessert the most, best way to end the meal.
Overall, it was a wonderful meal with great service in a beautiful setting. I would happily return to try more of the menu.
A great spot for a date night. The restaurant has a cozy and romantic atmosphere with dim lighting, although we had to use the table lamp to read the menu. It was quiet and comfortable.
The staff were friendly and attentive. One of them recommended a dish for us to try, which turned out to be a good choice. The only thing I found a little funny was that three or four different staff members asked if we had any allergies. I guess it’s part of their service, but it definitely caught my attention.
The food was excellent. Every dish had its own unique flavors, and there wasn’t a single item we didn’t enjoy. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. The prices are on the higher side, but you’re paying for the food, service, and nice atmosphere. Overall, it’s worth it for a special occasion or a date night.
Located in the Dempsey area, the walk toward the restaurant is surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful villa-style houses that feel almost American in style. This is something quite rare to see in Singapore, considering how small the island is, yet they have preserved the environment and architecture remarkably well.
Claudine was originally a Catholic church. Although Singapore is known for preserving its historical architecture, the way the restaurant has been set up matches the old structure perfectly. It still carries the nostalgic atmosphere of the former church while simultaneously offering an elegant French-European dining experience.
I really loved the hosting style here. It was not overly formal, but instead felt warm and welcoming, almost like being invited into a family setting. The staff communicated in a very natural, peer-to-peer manner, which made every interaction feel genuine and comfortable. That is something I personally value very highly.
The food arrived quickly, and every dish was delicious. The restaurant offers a balance between indulgent dining and an immersive experience — a place where people come not only to enjoy great food, but also to enjoy the atmosphere and the show-like experience around them.
Overall, I highly rate everything about this place.
Set in a 1930's chapel building, the dining room is visually stunning, especially the large stained glass window. Service is warm and attentive without being overbearing - each of the staff members that took care of us went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and understood the dishes. Last but not least, the food was top notch. We enjoyed every dish, especially the bouillabaisse which featured fresh seafood and a rich, addictive stock.
Starters:
- Steak tartare 5*. Meat is very fresh, springy texture, no raw taste, mix well with the flavours
- Escargot 5*. Already de-shelled. Texture is surprisingly different from usual escargot. Taste great.
- Seabream carpaccio 3*. The raw fish has no taste. The sauce and condiments no wow factor.
- And the complimentary bread with butter. Butter is surprisingly very good!!! Must try.
Mains:
- Petuna Trout 5+*. The fried fish is surprising good!! Crispy skin and fish go along super well with the sauce.
- Claudine ‘Bouillabaisse’ 4*. Interesting dish. The bread and saffron sauce enhance the dish, but are not enough to go around. Without them, the seafood soup no wow factor. Seafood are fresh, octopus very good.
Desserts:
- Ile Flottante 6*!! The vanilla sauce has a flower fragrance. The nuts seems candied, well-balance and enhance the whole dish.
- Paris-breast 4.5*. The kaya cream is fresh and rich. The praline feuilletine hazelnut taste spread in ur mouth. The cream could be too fattening for some ladies.
Service is very good. For Mother’s Day they gave a photo and card for souvenir.
Great ambience. Tables spread far apart, place is easy to talk.
