This coastal spot has undeniable charm and some truly standout dishes, but the service unfortunately failed to keep pace.
The trouble began the moment we walked in. There was no clear hostess station, and we were initially ignored by several staff members in the left dining room. After navigating our own way to the right, we spotted someone sitting at a table whom we first mistook for another patron, but turned out to be the hostess.
The Food:
Oysters & Popcorn Scallops: 10/10. Fresh, delivered fast, and the scallop portion was very generous.
The Burger: Excellent and cooked perfectly.
Crab Cake: Decent, though outshined by the appetizers.
Brussels Sprouts: These had an unexpected, heavy "kick" of spice. We only ate a few.
The Service:
While the food came out quickly, the hospitality was lacking. After telling the waitress we didn't enjoy the sprouts, we heard her loudly discussing our feedback with a coworker nearby. Furthermore, we were disappointed to be charged full price for the nearly untouched sprouts, and drink refills were almost nonexistent.
We brought our family out for a nice dinner on vacation and our server was fantastic. She was prompt, gracious, and when our 2 year old was having a meltdown she did everything in her power to expedite our extra order of fries! We didn't feel judged or rushed and that means a lot to us.
The food was amazing, the charbroiled local oysters, the lamb lollipops, and my 16 oz ribeye (cooked to a perfect rare) were standout dishes and our cocktails were excellent too. I want to thank the staff for bearing with us and our tiny terror!

As someone who travels and stops it almost any location. Oyster Bay is absolutely phenomenal, especially being in Cape May! What an excellent spot with fantastic servers and incredible oysters. I will absolutely be going out of my way to be stopping here again, especially during happy hour

5/2026 very nice restaurant. Nice server as well. We had the filet mignon and shrimp risotto. Very tasty. Mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley came with the filet. Both were good. Have to ask for bread and there's the idiotic 3% upcharge if you use credit. Prices were a little high but nowadays, virtually nothing can be done about our failed government. Enjoy it while you can folks! I'm not sure how anyone can get out of here paying $20 per person does Google has on its low end, unless you get an appetizer only. With tax and tip and all that extra crap, you're definitely spending over $30 a person. If you get drinks appetizers etc you're going to be closer to $50 per person or more. I would recommend if you have some money to burn. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the food which was very well presented so I included some local wildlife pictures. You're welcome.
