Growing up in England, pub food has always been a favorite of mine. I’ve become a big foodie over the last 15 years and treated myself to many Michelin dining experiences and I can genuinely say this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The pub itself and atmosphere is lovely and cozy and the food was divine, I loved every dish that was served. The venison scotch egg is truly out of this world. The Quail with the peas was delicious. The lamb is some of the best I’ve had. The rice pudding was very different but still very good but the strawberry custard tart was so good. They topped it off with homemade fudge as a closer which was incredible. The service was great and the only reason I don’t give it 5 stars was because the waiter openly said they hadn’t tried many things on the menu so couldn’t really recommend things to us and had to call the manager to answer us which struck us as a bit odd Ie; you would expect them to be very familiar with the menu. But overall this was truly an outstanding dining experience well worth every penny and the food was the true highlight.
Had an excellent dining experience at The Harwood Arms. The food was outstanding, especially the Scotch egg, roast quail, cured sea bream, and the belted Galloway beef. Even the potato galette served on the side was exceptionally well done.
The atmosphere was very cozy and full of character, making the whole experience feel warm and unique. As for the drinks, the Virgin Mary was surprisingly impressive with a very distinctive flavour.
This is definitely a British restaurant worth trying if you want high-quality British cuisine. The service was also excellent throughout the meal.
Despite holding a Michelin Star, what impressed us most was the staff's attitude: incredibly down-to-earth, attentive, and never stuffy. It’s rare to find a venue of this calibre that feels so welcoming. A special mention goes to the kitchen for their dietary management: one of our party is coeliac, and the menu was adapted perfectly to their needs without any fuss, making us feel completely at ease while maintaining top-tier quality for everyone.
The food was outstanding. The seasonal menu is intriguing, with ingredients (especially the game) treated with absolute mastery. If you are looking for fine-dining quality with the warmth of a pub, this is the place. Booking in advance is highly recommended. A true example of hospitality.
We had a lovely lunch and the pub is great. Food is delicious; don't skip the Scotch egg. It was all class. We'd give more than 5 stars for the service. Tyler is a great guy and we cant speak highly enough of him. Thank you, Harwood Arms.
We have been to Harwood Arms a few times over the last couple of years. The food is always delicious and interesting. The menu changes according to the season and focuses on a few dishes at a time. Guests we have brought have always enjoyed it too. Menu is decently priced.
