We had such a great experience at Buona Forchetta for Mother’s Day! Huge shoutout to Chef Enrique, our server Chris and the whole team for the amazing service and incredible food. We cane earlier to our dinner but they still were able to accommodate and didn’t make us wait, The whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the owner personally came to check on us, and Chef Enrique also stopped by our table which made the experience feel extra special. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the best part, we left feeling satisfied but not heavy at all. Even the dessert I tried “Delizia del bizco cheesecake” (highly recommended) was light, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Truly a 5-star experience from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back!
Visiting for the day we wanted some Italian food and this place is amazing! Every dish and desert tasted authentic and yummy!
And the staff were very attentive and friendly!! I highly recommend a taste I guarantee you will be happy you did.

Quaint, authentic vibe. Feels like you’re in a family owned cafe in Italy. Build your own pasta dishes and incredible pizzas. The tiramisu could rival any in Italy. Highly recommend .. very special spot.

What can I say, this probably is the best Woodfired pizza I have had. It even ranks higher than some of the eateries ive been to in italy. Intense flavor & equally great was the salad.

I never ever write reviews, but I was pretty bummed with our experience here today, especially with it being Mother’s Day. We have been to the San Marcos location probably a dozen times. It’s our favorite restaurant, and the food and service is exceptional. We expected the same today at the Encinitas location, but unfortunately, both did not come close. It took about 10 minutes for our server to even come to our table. We ordered a pasta and two pizzas, one of which was for our two young kids. We asked for hot honey on the pizza for us, and we were very clear which pizza this was for. They brought ours out first with hot honey and then brought the kids out and told us it also had hot honey. We told them they wouldn’t be able to eat it and kindly asked them if they would be able to remake it. Then we went to eat our pizza and it was a soggy mess. The whole thing was super watery, and when I picked up a slice, everything slid off of it. We waited about 5 minutes for our server to come by the table and I told him about the pizza and he said they would remake it. I honestly didn’t mind and wasn’t upset at all over any of this. Things happen. A bit later, the person actually making the pizzas came out to clarify which pizza had the hot honey. We told him clearly which one. After a bit of a wait, someone brought out the adult pizza with a side of hot honey instead of putting it on it. At this point, our kids were starving. We had asked them to remake their pizza a good 20 minutes before and were still waiting for it, so it has been a very long wait since we had initially ordered. If an order was made incorrectly, it should have jumped to the top of the orders, but the adult pizza which we told them about 10 minutes after the first issue, came out first. A few minutes later their pizza came. Both pizzas were still soggy in the middle and the crust was burnt. Better than the first one, but everything still slid off and the dough was floppy and wet. We didn’t say anything and just ate the pizza. Through all of this we saw our server twice and was never apologized to by anyone. They seemed annoyed with us even though neither were our mistake, and we were very kind about the situation. We were still charged for the pizza even with all the issues and left pretty bummed we wasted our money. We definitely won’t be back at this location, but San Marcos will still have our business. The service and atmosphere in San Marcos is phenomenal.
